I'm going to try and make wine and/or jam.

I bet both would be amazing
I'm yet to try any fruit as well. What's the closest fruit one could compare it to?

It's hard to describe the taste, but to me it has a melon like flavor with a bit of kiwi.

Crazy! The Ladies I work with gave this to me today after y'all were just talking about fruit's!

I put it in a twelve inch pot. It already had a ton of roots.
Never seen a fruit in real life!!! More excited that I finally have a cacti I can plant in the ground!!!!

I'm almost positive they had good callous so I potted in some dry soil.
Excited I'm going to finally have a outdoor cacti garden next year.
Seen alot of people with the cat box's so I figured I'd try it out! Good space saver!

Buy a ladder. It would be a shame to shorten a nice tree like that.

I had a large one like that that I had to cut down years ago because it was in the way of a fence that was going up. I put an ad on Craigslist but no one wanted any of it, even for free. I ended up chopping it up and throwing it next to my brush pile. Those chopped up pieces just started growing where they layed. Now I have several new plants growing from it. Those plants are tough as nails.

Yeah they are. I have to finely chop up anything that gets cut down with my machete. Even the smallest of bits will root.

I never have seen such a thing. I honestly thought you had grafted it together until i searched it.
Awesome!
It would look good with a few yuccas.

Actually that's the best way to root Opuntia pads, lying flat on the ground. That's the way they evolved to grow, as the chances of a falling pad landing on its end and standing up is quite remote.

Leave them be. Although rooting pads by laying them on their side is the best way, it also makes for untidy plants, whereas yours will probably be good for potting by the time they root.
