im at a small family farm last night to see if anyone there has weed i could throw my hash on cause i had no weed. and my two friends fathers are there. they are talking about one of their sons. one says yeah i seen him he said he was figuring out what hes gonna do and said the fuck i cant be here i gotta go, then he skateboarded away, after a short moment my buddies father says, on the thin ice of a new day. skateboarding away, on the thin ice of a new day. im still absolutley losing it, that is fucking pricesless and hilarious and if you dont think so then you can suck it. my buddys like 18, trying to figure shit out. idk i think its funny.

Facepalming because someone didn't get a Jethro Tull reference? Why would anyone reference a shitty band, anyway? We should COMMEND the man for not knowing.

to be realistic They are amazing but don't care for them at all. Like Frank Zappa
but honestly, never should have been nominated or won for best metal.

Yeah somehow I doubt the similarity between "skating away on the thin ice of a new day" and "skateboarding away on the thin ice of a new day" is a coincidence.

The Jethro Tull song was the first thing that popped into my head when I read the title of the thread. I was actually going to post the song but it was a done deal.

one father of a different friend friend said to the other father, i was talking to your son, he said idk what im gonna do, i gotta get the fuck out of here, and then he skateboarded away. so then the skateboarders father says, on the thin ice of a new day. skateboarded away, on the thin ice of a new day. then the other father says haha i like that did you just make it up? and the answer was," why yes, why yes i did right ont he spot, you like it?
for some reason i beleive him, thats why im going to ask. call him out on that shit.

They won something like that... 'best metal band'. Wasn't it a grammy or something? They beat metallica and all the metal kids were all pissed because jethro tull is nothing close to metal.
OP if you weren't referencing the jethro tull song then what was the point of this post??
I'm confused
But Jethro Tull is a great band. Their first album is still my favorite though.

His friend's dad made the reference, and I think the OP didn't catch the reference but liked the quote.

Nah, there is pretty much no chance whatsoever that he came up with that phrasing independently of the song.
