Mushroom ID app no help for this family Family misidentifies poisonous mushroom as edible By KOIN 6 News Staff Published: May 29, 2015, 2:07 pm Updated: May 29, 2015, 6:30 pm
 Poisonous mushroom (MGN Online, file)
SUNRIVER, Ore. (KOIN) — A family using a mushroom identifying app on a smart phone, became sick Thursday after eating mushrooms that were in fact poisonous. The family misidentified them on the app.
Sgt. Doug Sullivan with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office says the family thought the mushrooms were edible. Two boys, ages four and 14, and a 34-year-old woman, were all sick and taken to a hospital. A 15-year-old boy who also ate the mushrooms wasn’t showing any symptoms, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
They had picked the mushrooms on private property, located in the 54000 block of Pinewood Ave.
Officials say it is important to use multiple field guides when mushroom hunting, and to read the descriptions carefully. Mushrooms can change appearance as they mature or in different seasons.

Where does it say they ate psychedelic mushrooms. The article just used them randomly for a pic if I'm not mistaken.

There are enough mushroom nerds here to take good pics and have them ID it here. I wouldn't trust myself or some app.
