What are your experiences with dunking grains before spawning, does it actually increase yields or is it a contaminate risk?
I wanna try it with my new grow but I'll be pist if it ends up not working. Thoughts?!

It's not a contaminate risk, provided your spawn is clean and fully colonized...
I haven't tried dunking my grains cause...well, frankly, my substrate is typically too moist and it just sorta, ya know, evens out

I have always dunked my grains but lately I decided it was a pain in the arse
And yea, I have trouble getting the perfect field capacity sometimes my sub preps up slightly wet anyways so yea like MonkeyJesus said it kinda evens out.
I wonder how much the grain can really soak up in 20 min anyways? I wonder if it just gets the outside of the grain wet and adds a little more water into the sub?

Frank proved dunking can be benefical, but for cultures that are very aggressive like reishi dunking isn't necessary. I always dunk my grain for 20 min, just break up the spawn in the jar and pour water into it.
Frankhorrigan has some good info on dunking

I haven't noticed a difference personally, but I haven't tried it nearly enough to have a strong opinion. It is a decent method for salvaging bacterial spawn though.

It's a dictionary for the modern age, it's about as real as it gets.

lol, I'm pretty damn pedantic about the English language, but if the letters phonetically spell the intended word I really can't see a huge problem. This isn't English class
