I wouldn't just because I don't like wet grain sitting out but I don't think it would kill anything to try it.
PC'ing tonight. Tomorrow is inoc day on approx 20 jars and some extra agar transfers. Will be interesting to see what happens with the bursted grain jars. Ironically these jars may be better then my others, we shall see.

Also aborts created that way aren't really strong like regular/small aborts typically. Will be about the same as any ground up amount of mushrooms.

Aborts, and other mutants, and such are ground up like that in this research lab to either encapsulate, and/or to make chocolates out of.

I'm not sure the words "research lab" and "make chocolates out of" can really fit into the same sentence with a straight face. I get what you mean though.

Curious, did you narrow down the "why" it happened?

Not really, to be honest. Best guess is too high spawn to sub ratio. Muda has had the same thing happen a number of times, if I remember correctly.
I have a friend that is giving them a go and reporting back in a few days. I munched on minuscule amounts of them fresh and was always surprised by the effect.
