Fighting cobweb on uncolonized bulk....

Ok...got some bulk, bout 60/40 straw/poo....colonizing well...except for the addition of cobweb mold? it's spreading it's happy way everywhere. I'm attempting to destroy it with a mild peroxide solution, but that appears to be somewhat ineffective. Any suggestions? lowering the hunidty combined with an alcohol application to the appropriate areas seems to be the best idea, but the substrate is NOT very far into the colonization process, so i'd prefer to keep the humidity high. I've already written it off, and have multiple seperate areas, so if ya got any tests you'd like to see, gimme em... Stay Frosty. R.C.

It seems that you haven't properly pasteurized.

nah, i think putting it back into a container that had straw in it to begin with is the problem...prolly got contaiminents from that. Or i'm just mis-identifying mycelial growth, which is still a possibility.

I find diluted bleach solution very effective against cobweb. I recently saved a straw project attacked by cobweb using this and so far, everything seems under control. As far as it's not everywhere, you can win the battle. On the other hand, if you hit and it keeps coming back, you're fucked. That was my nasty. Quite a big patch, but easy to remove and spray : Are you saying you used a bin with some unpasteurized straw in it?! If so, hmmmm, don't expect much out of it! .fs.
