Mold seems to like latching onto stumps for me. I have yet to see it start in a divot.

do you ever see exposed grains in your divots? I pump up fae and dont water the sub the last couple days before harvest so the sub/myc is a little dry and tears off in pieces, kinda like wallpaper for me, I tear off more than I'm trying to.
My stumps are where most new pins/knots form, but they usually dont do much until 3rd flush or so.

I may case the tub if it offers the most benefits, vs no casing
Also before I rehydrate the substrate, I should wait for the pins coming in right now to grow fully?

That is normal.
Also space I find that when I case I never see exposed grains but even when I don't its not a problem. The myc usually takes over in a day or two before molds have a chance to germinate.

Dont rip up your substrate, it will be a great spot for contams to germinate on. I cut mine with a scissors, as close to the base as you can get so you dont leave much mushroom flesh behind.
and no, the stumps wont rot
Well shit thats a good tip, i been ripping mine of nd the subs are hating me for it. I hit trech on one tub yesterday due to that same reason im thinking. Oh well? It wont bruise the mushrooms to bad cutting them will it?

I plan on harvesting these babies within the hour or so and I'll be testing the potency if you know what I mean
I'll be as gentle as possible and cut if necessary. Taking a spore print and I plan on making some agar plates tonight gonna clone the meatiest of the clusters

I feel like you would have more success using agar to colonize maybe 10 or so WBS jars, then do G2G with 4 of those jars. Those 4 could make you around 40 or so jars of fully colonized WBS, plus 6 left over jars for future use. I don't really see to point in making so many LC's.

Alright you humans
I gathered my tissue clone sample, they are soaking in blue
Is this acceptable to transfer to agar?
Also picked 300grams wet last night

I don't soak tissue transfers in anything. Take a clean inner sample and put it right on the plate.

Well this sample came straight from the mushroom
By soaking in blue I mean the actives are showing

Those tissue samples are in a ziplock bag. I put them in yesterday, while making my plates / currently waiting for them to cool off

Greetings humans
My petri plates melted in pc. Should have known better. I'll be using some glad mini rounds instead
Total harvest weight from tub one's first flush= 540 grams wet
The brf/ poo tray is really started to take off, applying the casing layer gave exactly what the mushies wanted
Coming up next folks, we have 3 more tubs put into fruiting yesterday morning, expecting pins in 7 days

Nice mushies ya got there. Keep us updated on the agar plates. You gonna use Pasty's tek?
And, I didn't know you could store tissue samples in the fridge. I thought it had to transferred to the plate immediately. Anyways, happy growin'!!
