PF Tek, results of 100% replacing BRF with Millet flour

Hey everyone,
I did some searching a while back to see if many people had used Millet flour to replace BRF in the PF tek (I would search more but searching has been disabled), I couldn't actually find anyone who had done it... and as my friends cat's dog was preparing for their first grow I would suggest this. The dog used organic Millet flour, and no BRF (PF Tek max fruiting formula)
The dog came out with 3 jars (1/2 pint) ready for birthing (lost a few to contams due to using the PC incorrectly). He cold shocked, dunked & rolled in vermiculite then birthed them into a Poor man's Pod. Unfortunately the strain is unknown, but it is P Cubensis.
The first flush has just been completed and from what he can tell it was very impressive! (especially for a first timer). He harvested the fruits well before they reached the veil tearing stage (he couldn't wait to try his first shrooms) and ended up yielding 90 wet grams off the 3 cakes (first flush only, and some small fruits still remain on the cakes). Unfortunately there aren't any photos, but is this normal for the PF tek? Would he have achieved more weight if he had let the fruits reach the veil tearing stage? (When he harvested the caps hadn't seperated from the stems, he couldn't even see the veil).
Has anyone else tried Millet flour in the PF tek and achieved similar results? Also, the dog cannot comment on potency vs BRF as he has never tried shrooms before.
Overall a complete success, He will definately stick with Millet flour (not that he's tried BRF).

Getting around 3 dried grams per cake on first flush with a PMP is on the mark. It's good to know millet flour works well. In fact, it was demonstrated that many things can work instead of the BRF. Some people like to grind some wild bird seeds and use this flour in the pf-tek. It is known to give some great results too.
I guess using millet or wbs flour is a good alternative for those who belive BRF is weaker in potency.
have a couple shrooms for having the guts not to stick with regular PF-tek at first!

i make my jars using this ratio. 2 parts verm,1 part water,1 part brf and 1 part organic hulled millet, this increases my nutrient reserve by more than double,as the hulled millet is heavier cup for cup than brf. they colonise at the same rate as straight brf jars and the yeild is increased due to the larger nutrient reserve. here is four half pints of florida coast, using about half as much millet as brf.i'm doing tassies now on equal portions of brf/millet.
1st flush from 4 1/2 pints..27grams dry.

Good to hear it works, I've got 9 cakes underway as a test to see how it runs.

Do you soak the millet seed first or just add it to the cake mix?

i just add it straight to the cake mix,i use hulled millet which absorbs water much easier.
