How long have you lived in your current local?

I like to travel but much prefer my homestead. have been living in the desert for almost 9 years, bought my place 6 years ago. work in progress but getting a few large projects finished this month (new hvac, new windows and doors) this fall should get a new roof then solar then can focus on the rest of the remodel.
Are you happy where you are living? any plans of changing it? i love my garden, pool, and trees. stoked to have things start to come together.

~2 years. It's nice around here but the job market is pretty niche and the rest is minimum wage. I'm content with my job it's just never a bad thing to keep looking. We're looking for a house now because we're gonna need more space. At the moment I've just got a townhouse and no yard but rent is cheap, which is a blessing around here.
I've never moved out of Southern Ontario, the longest I've lived anywhere would be maybe 4 years.

yea my spelling is atrocious
i dream of the day i can split time in the mountains, love some good snow time.
i don't really see ever wanting to leave my area full time unless things change majorly.
was really wondering how many transient types we have here, that lifestyle seems so enjoyable compared to the regulars of a mortgage.

Pretty much my entire life, nearly 30 years now. Hell I've lived in the same house for the past 15 years.
If I ever get a decent job that can afford to pay a mortgage, yes I'm moving. Will get everything settled here legally so I can sell this POS and I'll put it towards a down payment on a new house.

any plans on moving? i know people i went to school with that have never left the county .
slip good plan, every year that goes by my house gets improved and builds equity, plus the positive feelings when you accomplish a project/hardwork paying off.

I would probably just stay here and fix this rather than buy a new house, except this house just has way too much wrong with it. Termite infestation destroyed a lot of the bathroom walls, they need to be torn down and replaced. Entire house needs to be rewired, it was built in the 50's or so and still has the original wiring. You touch the insulation it just crumbles into dust. Kitchen and bathroom both need floors completely ripped up and replaced. Kitchen needs an entire remodel, there's no use in repairing any of the cabinets or anything.

Probably not. My family's lived here for generations, and I see no reason to change that.
