very true, im not versed enough to know the ratios women buy each in, id imagine the plastic applicators are more common but i could be wrong...
and beanhead no i never mentioned the oceans, but its very expensive for waste water treatment plants to remove the plastic applicators let alone tampons themselves as its considered bio-hazard waste.
I have nothing against women using them. I was just noting the majority of human history women have gotten by without them one way or another. I implore the women who still use sponges or something else that can be reused. kudos to them.

In Africa yes they do in fact use dung in the poor rural areas...rags aren't something they just have sitting around to use for those things. I've looked into shipping products there but the government would charge them so much to recieve the package they wouldn't be able to afford it.
Also having sex is a choice, girls don't get to chose to have a menstrual cycle or not.

Its life man, its natural, its happened for thousands of years, id rather deal with it than the loss of the environment or anything related.
Still nothing against it, I think its made women's lives much easier and increased their quality of life and ours. I just think we need to reevaluate our goals and means to the end.

I think it's not as common because women don't know they have the option to use the ones without applicators. I've also never heard of anyone flushing plastic applicators, seems like that toilet would never work right again if they did lol there are always little special containers just for used feminine products in the women's restrooms here so Idk why anyone would flush them.

Good for you for thinking of that, maybe those reusable cup things would work out to be more worthwhile to ship.

It's true that they are not perfectly analagous, but IIRC prescribed medications like birth control pills aren't taxed either. The more accessible condoms are the better though I think, for both men and women.

Very true... .However i do know its an expensive thing to deal with at waste water treatment plants. Now i know most dont flush them but i do know a good deal do end up at these sort of places and its expensive to deal with... Let me see if i can find the link.

That's what I was thinking too but the water isn't always available to clean them or its so contaminated it causes infection...I tried so hard to think of something for those girls but I lost that battle there was just something standing in the way around every corner.
I agree about condoms and birth control, I was just saying it's not a good comparison.

I just want to know how the hell they didn't fuck up the whole plumbing system...how can flushing paper towels mess it up but not plastic?
These women that are able to flush plastic must be witches or something lol

Id agree birth control is not a good comparison. As a women has no choice her period will come (for most....). Its not possible to live as a women and not experience a period (for the large majority). While sex is human, its not something that WILL happen or something that's out of our own free will.

It depends on a number of factors though, there are a number of "junk food" items that are always taxed but I believe anything in a restaurant is taxed no matter how healthy it is, and certain grocery store items are taxed when sold as single servings but not when they're sold in bigger containers.

Yeah I agree it's a weak comparison, I don't think there are any hygiene needs unique to men that really are directly comparable.

here's how you fight then, every man, man, and man child, should go out and buy tampons for themselves, EMPTY THE SHELVES MEN, buy them all up, and leave the women with nothing, that will send them a message, that sexism shouldn't be pushed down from the government, and men want EQUAL RIGHTS
also, you can then trade tampons for sex

Apparently you've never cleaned a womans restroom in a business. or had to snake out pads that dumb bitches flush down the toilet when the receptical is right next to them. Womens restrooms are always dirtier than mens.
