Should these jars be shaken?

I am unsure when i should shake my rye grain jars to distribute the myc; Also it has been 8 days since inoculation from MS spore syringe. On a side note, the jars still look a bit dry, would it be a good idea to add pc'd or boil sterilized water to the jars via syringe in order to re-hydrate them. Never the less the jars have been growing slowly day by day.

Ah, it looked green. I would wait a bit longer before shaking. 30% I would say

I wouldn't suggest injecting sterilized water into it, most of all the water is inside the grains. It's better to be a bit dry, then too wet in colonizing anyways.
I'd wait another day or 2 before you shake it. Otherwise it's looking all good!

That jar is contaminated. I see bacteria and mold.
Why did you add verm to the jars?

it seems that way in the pic for some reason but in reality its just pure white, what about it makes you think it is contaminated, just curious, i can try to get a better pic if u like. and i added dry verm to the bottom of the jars to prevent excess moisture in the bottom of the jar, they were pc'd at 15psi for 90 minutes and inoculated in walk in closet that was sanitized 15 min before inoc.

Adding verm to the bottom just gives the water a house. It doesn't make it disappear.
There isn't a science to shaking jars besides two larger ideas..
1. Shake upon reaching %25-30 if you are going for speed as it gives more surface area to grow upon. 2. Shaking jars causes a small delay of growth (off set pf course by increased speeds upon recovery)
I just recently had 72 QT jars of WBs.. Some after 10 days were %75 others were %10..
I shook them all because the Stars were aligned right.

Yeah, Brotha. It's all a waiting game.
I wouldn't inject more water into them either, that counteracts your idea of preventing excess water at the bottom- eh?
They should be fine- I assume you ised a MSsyringe.
As I did for those 10 master jars I did.
10CCs between 10 QT jars amd 2CCs left over for the vault.
Like I said,
4 Jars (4CCs) got to 70% in ten days, 3 jars(3CCs) got between 20-50% in those ten days.. And three jars (another 3ccs) are %35 while the others reached %100 three weeks ago and all got G2G'd into seven each and all of those even reached %100 before those 3 slow "master" jars even hit %50
..they still growin' tho'...
Chug'alug baby, chug'alug.
