Montpelier, VT ID Request
    #21733647 - 05/28/15 06:12 PM (8 years, 8 months ago)

Found these two mushrooms in some old mulch around a garden near the river in Montpelier, VT.  Any thoughts?  Thanks!

Thanks.  I was incorrectly thinking they were two different mushrooms.

Funny how much mushrooms change in appearance from immature to mature, same as most living things I guess.

Also the sun and weather can drastically change the way fungi look.

Nice finds!

There is a wide variety of cap colors in those, so I look for the yellow ring and veil remnants

Not too far away in Hanover, NH I found an abundance of what I believe are wine caps.  Safe to say I am correct?  Are the mature ones any good for eating?
