blue mold or bruising?
    #21732429 - 05/28/15 12:42 PM (8 years, 8 months ago)

So I birthed this cake with a 12 hr dunk then roll in verm wednesday last week. Its P cubensis and started with a small blue patch yesterday, i scraped this with q tip and a little blue came off and today its slightly larger, however it appears that the mycellium is about to overcome it? Thanks

damn! I have one other cake in the terrarium. Its completely covered fluffy white, is it correct that any potential trich spores (if leftover, I just took the cake out of the terrarium)wont infect the other cake or should i just be on the lookout?

A healthy cake will fight off trich. No matter how much exposure it had. Fluffy white isn't a problem. If it starts looking powdery like sand/the trich in your op then it's a tosser

Also i cant help but notice that theres no protection between the perlite and the cake... That is a cause for concern as god knows what is living on that perlite also the perlite will draw the moisture from the cake thus causing dehydration and a lack of evaporation off the cake which is pretty much your #1 pinning trigger
