My hands always cramp up and hurt

Possibly for many reasons. Whenever I play guitar I can only play for a few minutes before my hands get sore and I get depressed because I assume it's permanent. I took vitamin d supplements for a few months a while ago, I've been cracking my knuckles habitually for many years, and recently I've been working handling steel and shit as a machinist.
Anyone else ever experience this shit? Makes me want to die more than I usually want to die.

do you get pins and needles? aching at the wrist? any shaking/tremor? ache for prolonged periods after lifting heavy objects??
if so look into carpal tunnel syndrome

I was always told "eat potassium" when my hands or ankles would cramp up.

dear friend,
when i was a boy my father told me about this topic. .
back in ww II or some time, when there were cable operators, they learned about this for the first time. .
any repetitive activity will cause this; the cure is to take breaks every 10-15 minutes,
shake the hands and fingers in a pleasant way that is loosening,
flexibility and relaxation in physical endeavors is an essential key; in this topic in particular, it is really the cure for this,
that's why yoga and aikido and what not focus largely on relaxed physical form, being loose without tension; although it's not lazy thing; relaxation brings great vitality and energy i would generally say.
so basically relax and loosen the fingers, hands, arms, and the rest - is the simple cure;
and loosen and relax muscle tension in the rest of the body = good as well; to do so every 10-15 minutes if you're practicing guitar or if you're in an activity that has some kind of repetitive motion like that;
all the best.
also one good trick is to gently but firmly/deeply massage all the tendons and muscles from the elbow to the wrist; and the hand as well is a useful trick, indeed shoulder and the rest of the body is good as well;
useful info on how to do this is to use the thumb in a rotating fashion, probably the simplest and best way to massage in general;
all the hand, bone and arm muscles, and tendons, it works on very nicely.
cheers and wish you all the best <3
