Question about further work on a clone
    #21731738 - 05/28/15 09:01 AM (8 years, 8 months ago)

Hey all

So last month I took a few really good clones, transfered untill they showed prominent sectoring and then isolated each sector on a new plate untill they showed sectoring no more.
It was a good bit of work and used a lot of plates.

I then took each clone and fruited and took note- there wasnt much radical diffetence between them in fact many were pretty much the same, IE the two nice tubs in my sig.

So my question is, if I want to stabalize a clone is it really better to isolate and fruit each sector like I would if I was isolating from spore or should I just isolate the best looking sector from a clone to a monoculture and only test that one out since theyre all gunna be pretty close anyways

I hope I understand this stuff righy haha

Thanks! -Mushpunx

It's generally accepted around here that a clone will perform like an isolate of the clone. All you need to do is clone. As you now see, it doesn't really matter if you isolate it not. You've got good genes from a good clone.

Word. I do see some benifits from isolating my clones before I slant them though, and its not much work.
But yea not many benifits from going through and isolating all the sectors apparently

Seems thats work is better suited for isolation from spore yea
