Grains can go past 100C with moisture in them in a microwave, without them being in a microwave pressure cooker or sealed jar.

Some boil for 8 hours. I have done fractional sterilization with a lot of success, most of the instructions for doing it are fundamentally wrong, and instruct you to do what the inventor/discoverer of it specifically warned against doing. I am currently testing out grains with fungicide without using a PC.

you want bactericidal agents not fungicidal the fungus in the grain is killed easily unless you have byssochlamys which has spores activated by temperatures above 160F

I saw RR saying he thought his banrot seemed to keep bacteria at bay.

My small test jar is not contaminated but may be a little too dry and there is not much growth from the agar wedge I put in. I PC'd other grains with thiomethyl and put agar wedges on them an all are growing, it is odd looking growth all in spots.

I found no problems when using banrot, and the fruits came out normal.  It seems I used 1 tablespoon of Banrot 40WP per five gallons of soak water, but that could probably be reduced.

Banrot will prevent fungi spores from germinating, but doesn't affect mycelium.  It also seems to prevent bacteria.  I once left a freshly sterilized jar of rye berries exposed to the open air for half an hour or so, then closed it up and a month later, it was still contaminant free.
