Questions about grafting mangos

Hey guys I've recently been growing a mango seed that I collected from a fruit I bought and was wandering if there is any info available "That's easily understood" that I might be able to use to get this plant on a better more suitable rootstock for growth in my area "or southern US"?
I figure there is a possibility that I might not get fruit from it but I believe the experience would be worth the risk and a win win whatever the outcome.
What do you guys have that can help me get this working?

Just buy a grafted tree. I havr a Kent mango variety. Which I need to gwt in the ground. It flowers, sets Fruita and then drops the majority. I have one fruit left.
No tree grown from seed will produce any good fruit. Maybe 1 in a thousand or a million. It's a crapshoot. as I have been told before, don't bother with it. You'll spend much time and money and get nothing .
For purpose of science, go ahead. For sustainability go with a grafted variety.

I was hoping you'd pop in here
I see what your saying and that's really what I figured but my main hope for this is to learn good ways to graft plants out of the cacti family.
I've really enjoyed learning to graft and I kinda wanna step up my game a bit. You know the saying nothing ventured nothing gained
For the fruit I would most likely buy a pregrafted tree but atm this isn't really about that. I'm just in it for the experience.

Grow to grow. That's always a plus. New genetics, maybe a disease resistant. But like I said it's a crapshoot.
Grafting a seed grown is counter intuitive. It's not like you know it's good. And if it was it would be a spaceman original. But the chances of that are a million to one.
Just be smart and use your intuition. That's the only way to go my brother. Just saying.dont waste your time and money.

Ferrel is spot on. My girlfriend likes to grow them for the fun of it. They are relatively easy to germinate, but difficult to keep happy over time. For me, when they get a few feet tall and the main trunk hardens over, the leaves begin to show signs of nutrient deficiency or ph issues. Since I've never actually looked up what soil type or nutrients they prefer, they always crap out on me at some point. I don't know if it's my climate, or if they need a specific nute balance for flowering. I had one that I wired for aesthetic purpose.

Anyway, good luck!

I like the crooked trunk.

I think it would be impossible to get fruit in your neck of the woods spaceman, although there is a variety of mango called a condo mango, that grows well in containers, and flowers really small.
That being said,if you have a heated greenhouse I think you'd be able to pull it off,but like ferrel said, growing fruits from seeds, you won't know what your dealing with.

I believe mangoes can only be grafted with other mango trees.
Here is a good link for you though.
