Women and the army

Inspired by my old thread, which got derailed beyond all recognition (damn you zappa). In it there was a conversation about how much women could carry and still carry out a job (in this case, roofing). This got me thinking. What about people's views on women in the army?
I am in the middle, I think, because I believe that women who wish to enlist in combat roles should be required to pass the exact same kind/s of physical requirements and tests as the male recruits. If there is a super-strong woman who can jump, climb, carry, run, and march as well as the men, she should be allowed to join.
Of course, there are some other stuff that might hint at the in-suitability of women in the army. Such as possible sexual harassment suits, or the female soldiers getting pregnant. I read somewhere that there was a female soldier who wanted to go to the washroom but she didn't want to do it in front of all the guys so she requested her superior to order some male soldiers to dig a discreet hole in the ground for her to pee in. I think this is nuts.

Yeah, sexual harassment is pretty rampant in the military. There's a big investigation going on right now in my country because of it.
Anyway, I see nothing wrong with it if it's what they want to do. The requirements should be the same, but I don't see why a woman needs to be exceptional to be equal physically to a man. Yeah, there's biological limitations, but I can tell you right now there's plenty of women out there that I wouldn't want to get in to a fight with and that goes for a lot of guys.

i dont see a problem with it as long as they physically can do the job... i know some chicks that like to shoot guns and blow shit up just like guys do..
who am i to get in the way of that?
and ps: i know a chick that just retired not to long ago from the army as a mental health doc... apparently alot of rape went on where she was at with the other wiminz. guess that is something to think of.
