Why is there such a big uproar? It's not like world cup games were fixed anything. Bid's and marketing rights going to the highest bidder is how capitalism works, I wouldn't consider that "widespread and systematic corruption." The rules set in place are contradictory to human behavior.

They uncovered dozens of schemes which means it was widespread and systematic. They controled the whole fucking sport you think they werent making sure thier top horses were coming in too your dumb. The up roar is that you had a bunch of snake fucks running a multibillion dollar corperation going around fucking over the wrong people and so theyre done. So people who like soccer are pissed.

This is every billion dollar corporation. I love soccer. Yes there was corruption and bribes and kickbacks but none of it involved the games or team performances. I would be pissed if it did, but so far it's executive back room deals, i'm not naive enough to pretend like this is going to go away because some people got caught no matter what organization runs international soccer.

FIFA has been corrupt since I can remember. This is nothing new, but they are only corrupt in a few sectors. The thing about their corruption is that you can blatantly see it at the top level in World Cup games, but not much so at even very high levels, although it does happen sometimes in the English Premier league, Spanish, Italian, German "division 1/top leagues", etc etc.
Refs and players have been indicted before many times in really important games but it's silly to propose that every league in every country in the world operates the same way even though they are under the jurisdiction of FIFA.
It was just a matter of time before executives started to get caught and I'm glad the ones that are guilty finally are getting what they deserve.
There's so many people talking shit in here about soccer as an overall sport when they've never followed the sport in their lives. Kind of this delusional, one tracked mind where all you see is what you want to see. To each their own, though.
This isn't about flopping, it's not about basketball, it's not about football. (I'm looking at you getting railed in the ass by Brady and the whole NE offensive line, Bassfreak).
I much rather watch a football or basketball game over a soccer game. So my argument isn't because I'm Brazilian and "soccer is in my blood." Because it sure as fuck isn't. I watch it from time to time but it's not in any way relevant to this conversation.

No actually its not every corporation. But ur right FIFA is a business not a sport. Those exectutives controlled everything which happens to includes the games and team proformances. Lets keep it real here dewd. I bet if any country team player pissed off FIFA enough it would be fucking over for them real quick. Arent soccer players notorious for taking bribes anyway? I thought it was common knowledge I mean people deny it cuz its like an unspoken thing but everyone knows really.
