Yep, Steveo, I did it with 4 grams of ovoids. I didn't know shit from straight up for a while. It was too much for me. I like to eat about 2-2.5 gs of these dry, seems to be perfect for me. Tea hit me like a truck, but it also went away really fast.

I have only encountered strong and stronger.
But all mine were mulch. I would suggest trasplanting to mulch and letting em get really strong.
I would stay there is a correlation with mycilium thickness and strenght the spots that have super super strong hearty mycilium have been stronger for me

I agree that mulch ones are more potent. I have a private spot that is natural habitat, a few years ago I started taking buckets of mulch in and "feeding" them, they have grown better, and more potent this season. Not sure if what I'm doing has helped but the mycelium has gone apeshit on the mulch, fruits seem more meaty, and more potent.

Stevo "...Perhaps extraction to standardize the dose would make a nice method of avoiding suprises as recommended by someone else..."
Grinding a multidose pile of cracker dry fungi to an extra fine powder with a small coffee grinder will help assure some standardization of dose - you can even cap em up if you like. I haven't had the opportunity to keep anything much more than a year but the following works fine for maintaining potency for that period
1. initial dry - set up plastic container (shoebox or >) outfitted with very small "personal" fan (a few inch diameter, small light for a little heat (~25w or <) and a small container with dry rite or other dehumidifier salt - keep lid on but not sealed 2, dry for about 24 hours or more if very large or wet - should feel dry to touch 3. Set up stage 2 drying container - airtight container (~ 1 gallon capacity) put a small dehumidifier tub in button with a screen on top - you don't want to touch the salt and you don't want the mushrooms to touch it either - let the sit another 24 - they should be almost crispy 4. pack in a ziplock bag -press out air and add an oxygen remover packet (you can buy or use one from recently opened food or dog treats - alternately if you have a seltzer maker - squirt some co2 into bag to replace air - then press and seal. 5. Put in the freezer
Takes a little time but it is minimal work - as far as the dose - 0.5g should do what your looking for unless you're very large - try a quick mushroom-miso or soy soup - pour a cup of boiling water over the shrooms preferably ground or chopped up - and whatever you like to flavor it- let it steep at least 15 minutes - you can reheat but don't cook or boil extensively - drink it and most importantly eat the mushrooms and chew them very well if they are chunky
Thought these were cute shaded by Pluteus

SatanicShroomer said: I agree. Mine are normally more potent than cubes for sure, though. Also, Ive noticed so.e years seem.more potent than others. This year 3x seems about right....lol. I've always just.dried them without exposure to light and heat, and it has seemed to work fine. Maybe next group I'll dehydrate just to compare.
My ovoids are the same about 3x as potent as good ole cubes. I dry mine out with a fan for 2 days then use low heat to get em crispy. Doesn't hurt them much.

Got out into the wild for a few today.....

They're still going, and we're getting some great weather this week, but they are in there thick. Hope this finds all well, happy hunting! Adam

I keep hitting the same spot every three days and there's a new flush ready for picking. If it weren't for this one spot this season would have totally been a bust. I haven't found a new patch this year.

I'm doing the same thing koods, hitting the area I always concentrate my main efforts on. This season is not anywhere near as good as last season, but I still have back stock from last year...lol. I'm just taking what I can get and being grateful for that. Some years you just have to take what nature gives ya! I would hate to be a "noob" this season though, tough ass hunting, and the weather hasn't exactly cooperated. You're having a decent season from what I've seen. Keep at it..

So did Ovoids get any new territory this year? GA right, no TN or Carolinas?

Looks like psilocybes but not sure if they are ovoids, east coast ovoids look different.

First time hunter in Northern KY/IN area, scouted a few locations today and found nothing. We are expecting some rain tonight and I have a few other spots in mind to check out tomorrow and over the weekend.
