Extra large grow bag pressure cook time

I decided to go with just one extra large 9.5"x5.5"x24" bag of seed for my 16 qt pressure cooker, it practically fills it. I have it rocking away at 16 psi and was thinking will two hours be enough? Its about 3 gallons of substrate, maybe 10-15 lbs?

i didn't weigh it, its huge. Like i said its about 3+ gal volume. Its spent grains from 8 gals of beer, so like 14 lbs dry grain at the start of the brew and some crappy whole wheat malt i had extra. Go for a full 3 hrs?

Yeah I'd do 4hrs at a lower psi maybe 10. I dont think your bags will withstand 3+hrs of 16psi. Try lower psi's for a longer duration.
For future reference, split all tht up into different bags next timee.. Lolol

So do the bags break down with the high temp? I do have the adjustable rocker so that would be easy to adjust. Im trying to make better use $$ of my bags. I didn't realize how extra large the extra large bags really are, its like a small pillowcase lol.

They do sorta look like mini pillowcases.
Not from high temp necessarily, but from high temps beyond the standard duration.
I've come across several posts of ppl finding small holes in their bags from prolonged use of heat.
Also you should look into possibly reusing bags.. I just seal with Micropore tape before PC'ing my bags, then open the bags in my SAB when doing G2G or w/e... When I'm finished I just seal it back up with a new strip of Micropore.
Btw.. I think the X-Large bags are for bulk substrates.

My fruiting chamber is on kingpin size if i was doing cubes, but i'm doing oysters. Im trying to sort out my spawn tek to inoculate 15 gals of bulk substrate weekly, so it will take a side of beef...
Mr. Fox, thanks for the help. I went with a 3 hr PC at 16. I'll see how it turns out. The last two bags (not a massive single bag) were 2 hrs at 14 psi and they self inflated after a week of sitting... not a good sign.

I do 4qt bags and run them 15psi for 3 1/2hrs. I MAY be able to get by with 3 but I'd rather not have to find out by throwing out 6 bags.
I would bet that large bag may be doomed.

If you're still there, how'd she turn out? I just started up my pc with the same kinda bag, before finding this thread.
I'm wondering why these extra large bags were ever recommended in the first place... wherever that was I saw'em. For bulk substrate like Fantastic Mr. Fox said ^^^ to me they're just gonna be spacious bags.
Depressurizing now, gonna split into smaller bags and probably do 2 sessions also gonna use tape rather than seal with iron and parchment. Again, thanks Fantastic Mr. Fox
