Good stuff stevo. I have been using the same pellets, with less than stellar results...
How are you sure it is cedar, did you contact them?

Right on, bro!!!
I've read (from ancient documents) that the only way to find them in nature is to walk mindfully, or at Yu's Pace. (wiki reishi)
mine has gotten deformed cuz my dog sniffed it. (they exhale just as much as they inhale) so do everything you can, put quartz around there, meditate on it, love it, and dont touch it when its young

Last time I used pennington natures heat pellets(first bag I ever used, then couldn't find them again) they said on the bag that it was oak. Worked just fine.

How did the soapy water mess it up? Suds help to keep away and kill slugs and other pesky bugs.
I've been trying diatomaceous earth on my outside reishi grows...futilely. I had a pin yesterday. But this morning, it was gone and a happy slug laid nearby.
Any trouble or solutions for slugs and roly polies?

Your going to have some nice fruits stevo!
I'm surprised the slugs and snails bother your reishi, I have some outdoor in a flower bed and they leave them alone. However, it may be because they are too busy feasting on my oysters a few feet away.

I guess I'll have to start growing oysters nearby the reishi outside as a decoy for the bugs then. Diatomaceous earth is annoying to have to keep reapplying after the rains and not that effective. I've got new pins but nervous they'll get eaten before they even have a chance.

I have been following this for some time, It is an excellent grow, but I think you are actually growing Ganoderma curtisii instead of G.lucidum. Pay special note to the light yellow color, where G.lucidum is usually a vibrant deep red.
Very cool though, I have been wanting to do a buried block or something like that. Looks like it really works. Is it under any cover?
