Habitat:
Found these growing individually from 3 logs near a small river in eastern ohio.

Gills:
cream, almost salmon colored gill, not attached to the stem

Stem:
biggest = 2.5" long, .25" wide at base, white with light brown fibrous looking lines running longways, solid, sturdy.

Cap:
2"wide, Brown, darker near the center... the rest you can see in the pic

Spore print color:
waiting...

Bruising:
none

Pluteus species. I can't get you any closer than that to the exact mushroom because they are so dried up, which makes recognizing them more difficult, and can make keying them out essentially impossible.

cool, thanks... the mycokeys MMI that i used to use seems to be down, or isn't working on my pc anyway, so knowing to research some pluteus should get me close enough to make a positive.

seems to be a good year for them, even despite it being so dry locally for me, i'm still seeing them, almost to the exclusion of anything else.
