Crazy junkie schemes
    #21721479 - 05/25/15 03:51 PM (8 years, 8 months ago)

Talk about some crazy, sad, funny schemes that you've heard of junkies pulling in an attempt to get drugs.  Things that normal people wouldn't dream of doing, which make for a good story.

I can think of one story right off the bat.  A co-worker of mine has a junkie niece.  The niece and her boyfriend are hooked on opiates (mostly).  One time they were completely out of money and drugs, so they rolled around in poison ivy, naked or nearly naked.  They believed that the hospital would give them pain pills for this.  They obviously didn't get any pain pills.

I knew a dude that would shop for receipts in the parking lot, go pick the stuff out in the store and walk straight to the return desk and return it. He tried this at target

Another dude used food stamps to buy a huge thing of coffee at walmart then returned it to get cash.

I'm pretty sure someone I know purposefully broke his arm to get pain pills.

My step sister would get teeth pulled for the Vicodin script. Teeth are perfectly fine, not sure how she got the dentist to do it, but she did it repeatedly.

My dad used to do the "Find a receipt and go get the items and return them for cash" thing.. He tried to even get me to use my license to do it once. Just so he can get more rocks. Fuck that.

another dude stole people's unattended textbooks at the campus library and unlocked bicycles outside dorms (that's fucking low)

Benzo junkie on here just ripped Viva off for 180 dollars. Dude had a bad trade rating for doing the same thing to someone else. I'd never front money to anyone here for "life problems" during the midst of a drug addiction.

Not really a junky shenanigan, but in high school we printed off fake money, to buy a quart of dro off some kid who fucked us over twice before. Only reason it happened twice was cause we were nice and gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought he wouldn't try it twice. Well he did so we hit him up for a quart of dro, and he shows up with 5 gs of regs, we hand him the money (looked and felt faker than shit) he glanced at it and said cool thanx. Ten minutes later hes blowing up my buddies phone pissed as shit. Fucker got what was coming.

I should have mentioned the cash amount since bud prices fluctuate so much from area to area. The proposed deal was we would buy 120 dollars worth of bud, with 120 fake bills. We ended up getting 40$ worth of bud for free.

Another thing someone else wanted to do to this scumbag, was get some fake rolls, knock his ass out, and have a girl call the cops on him saying she saw someone get knocked out, and leave the rolls in him. She would be calling from a payphone, and yes payphones still exist in some areas.(easily this guy was the most hated guy in our high school)

Some of the guys I knew through mutual associates would go around right before Christmas and snatch packages off people front porches and shit.  When I first heard them talking about this I said something to the effect of "wtf is wrong with you, you are literally the grinch stealing people's Christmas gifts".  It really lowered my opinion of them, and normally I'm pretty tolerant, so I think it caught them off guard.  They acted like they felt so bad, and started going on annoying rambles every time they got fucked up about how I was such a good kid and a good influence on them, I guess because I did drugs and wasn't an absolute bottom feeder that was really something to them .  I know it continued though.  Worst part about it is that most of this group had relatively wealthy families who would pay their rent and shit like that, and still they had no problem sinking to any level to fund their habit.

I eventually had to cut them all off when I got clean.

Anyways apparently one time one of these kids was doing the grinch scheme all blacked out on xanax, adderall, and god knows what else.  The kid loses his car, with the keys in it and the engine turned on.  It wasn't stolen, it wasn't towed (not right away at least), he lost it while wandering around the neighborhood stealing packages.  So he calls someone and gets a ride home, or walks I forget what he said, and barely remembers any of this the next day, but a couple of days later investigators call him or his dad or something, because the car was found with the keys turned in the ignition, out of gas, in that neighborhood with a bunch of stolen property in it.  I think they lawyered up and last I heard they were just trying to avoid prosecution, refusing to talk about it and just calling the car a total loss, not even going to pick it up or anything because they thought it would be incriminating.  It was so crazy to me that someone could do that, and then just go about their fucked up life not making any changes.

Honestly the fact that there are so many people like that in the scene is what drove me to get on maintenance, there was plenty of other drama around them.  I figured it was only a matter of time before they dragged me down with them.  I get the feeling that they're all potential snitches too (I know for a fact some are).  Just no backbone whatsoever.  Sometimes I still get calls, and they always act like they're just trying to catch up, but then it always get around to asking me for some sort of favor.  Sometimes these requests can just be ridiculous too.  It is so nice not having to put up with anything like that anymore.

I know a girl that broke her arm on purpose to get pain meds at the doc, also another girl I know would steal copper out of AC units, she got arrested doing that and did a small stint in jail.

Three friends stole TV's from bestbuy, somehow they would take them out a service door/or back door, the specifics were vague but I remember my buddy did a year in prison for it.

I know hella folks that have pulled smash/grab "licks" as the kids call it, they would kick in someones door and steal whatever they could of value, this one guy stole a bunch of golf clubs and pawned them at play it again sports, which was funny because they only give you cash once your items sell so he had to wait a bit.

I wont even mention all the guys/gals I know that do sexual favors for cash to fix, it's common place within the junkie crew I used to kick it with.

So those stories aren't that crazy, pretty normal junkie behavior if you ask me, but hey it's what I have to share.

Going to the racetrack and breaking into cars during the races.  I guess people stash money in their cars at horses races.  Someone I was locked up with was planning on starting a fake bail bond company and ripping off immigrants because they wouldn't go to the cops.  Lots of people liked ripping off immigrants because they never called the cops and usually dealt with cash.  Breaking into houses was always a popular hustle, knew a lot of dope fiends that did that.  Breaking into cars was another really common hustle.  Mostly crackheads did that type of shit.  Ripping off drug dealers was always a common hustle.  I always sold drugs when I was strung out, but I knew enough people that did other shit.  You never realize how fucked up people are until you meet a bunch of people strung out on heroin.  The fucked up thing is a lot of those people weren't bad people, they just cared a lot more about getting more heroin than their morals.

Reminded me of some shroomite that had a "plan" to start carrying out a t.v. from best buy by sneaking it through the front door and putting them in their truck beds. It was some obviously stupid plan like that. Can't remember who it was though.

can't think of any far out stories to speak of than what has already been said.  silliness what make of most of people's actions when down and out looking to get up.  as long as have been silly, never saw any wrong to what was being done.  not something that I would do, but wouldn't speak condemning words towards such people.  who's to say what is right and what is wrong, especially when it comes to other people's actions.  easy enough to think of what is right and wrong for myself to do, get into, but then, things just are as is and happen because...

I'm to say it's wrong for you to steal from another person to feed your own habit. I would speak condemning words to such a person.

If you can't afford your own habit, then quit. Can't do it on your own, go seek help. There is no excuse for it. Because you don't want to be miserable you're going to make someone else's life miserable?

It seems like if your a big enough scum bag to steal from somebody your low enough to snitch on someone to get out of trouble.

My cousin used to steal hos friends debit cards and try and get cash from am machines by guessing the or passcode. He was a moron.  One time he went to the ER and said he fell off a tractor and hurt his leg the doctors knew he just wanted pills and called the cops.  He didn't get In trouble that time just tried to scare him.  He would steal from anyone he could.  He ripped the wrong person off once and got an ass kicking of a lifetime.  That was pretty funny.

Another kid I knew somehow got his hands on a master key from Walmart and went to various walmart that opened up the video game boxes and whatever else. He ended up stealing thousands of dollars worth of shit before he eventually got caught.  I think he's doing up to 5 years in prison Now for that and other shit he's done. This was 4 or 5 years ago and he's still I  there.

Another time the Walmart kid also stole some copper wire and took it in the woods to strip it down well it took him like 4 days yo get it stripied then he only got like 35 bucks for it so he worked for like less then a dollar an hour to get that money.  I thought that was pretty funny.  I also think it's funny he's locked up now.

I also knew this winger kid I used to get 30s from when I did that.  He seemed as shady as they came but was always straight with people, I mean his prices where high but he never ripped anyone off.  But he was a dumbass who thought he could never get caught and did deals in pares full of people and what not.  Eventually his house got raided and now he's doing a few years in federal prison.  He was the only one that I felt sorry for when he went away, he was just too stupid to be a drug dealer.  Even when he was out on bail before he went away, he was hitting me up trying to sell shit, I dont know how anyone could be so dumb.

That's the truth right there.  I know Of some people that was hooked really bad and never stole a dime from anyone.  Even this one person would ask me to borrow cash and I would give it too him and he would always pay me back.  He was a smart kid had a good job, got a college degree now,  he just got too heavy into it and he realized it and got clean.  Not all junkies are really "junkies"  some are good people who just get too deep into it and then realize their over there head.  My bro was one of these people and pretty much went cold turkey and got off of it.  Then he got into subs and did the same thing went cold turkey and got off that shit.  And he's one of the best people I know.  Even when he was in the middle of his addiction He would do anything for his friends and never even thought about stealing a dime from anyone.

It seems like junkies use their addiction as an excuse to steal, rob, deceive whatever to feed their addiction and expect people to be like "aawww he has a disease he can't help it"  and that's just not the case.  Addicts still have a choice to do what's right or wrong and there's no excuse to steal or take money from someone else. Ever.

I knew someone who used to go to big box stores and return merchandise with stolen or found receipts. If he was ever questioned, he would just walk out of the store supposedly. He was arrested several times for shoplifting so I don't believe his endeavors always worked out in his interest.

I knew another girl whose ex had her deliberately drop a cylinder block on a his foot to end up in the ER for some opiates. Fractured his foot - not sure if it was really worth all the effort.

i once helped a guy clean up his burned up trailer in exchange for the metals.  Apparently the guy's brother-in-law had been stealing copper wire, and burning the insulation off in 55 gallon drums.  The guy knew something was wrong, because his sister and her husband were always sick and covered with sores all of a sudden.  One night, the guy fucked up somehow and caught the whole joint on fire. probably for a couple hundred worth of copper.
