I don't even have top holes stuffed with poly and I live in 0-20% humidity climate. Tubs are the best.
Also it's now the consensus not to dab up metabolites. It's like surface stomach acid digesting the baddies. Never once seen a contamination happen from metabolites, I've also seen pins form inside a pool of metabolites. Just saying.

I actually took my top hole poly out when you said that in my other thread Mad Season...lol. I put them in today again to try to bring up humidity....but realistically what do I know lol, first time ever. I will be removing the poly from the top holes again later on and just leaving them out. I have only misted once, today. Although I will be misting the corners of the sub once more later on today as per Mad Season again. Thanks guys

Sorry...forgot. I guess I should just stop manually fanning as well if the sub is too dry eh?

Here's the truth on fruiting. You want a relative humidity of 85-95%. The lower the better. You want the surface to have a high 99% humidity. We achieve this by stuffing the bottom holes balls tight, using casings, or keeping the surface glistening with misting. That's all you need to do.
You would rather have to mist once a day over having it too humid for there to be no evaporation. 85% humidity with 99% surface humidity will constantly evaporate which is the pinning trigger. Hope this helps
Keep it glistening with no pooling water and wait and watch. Also I never fan with the lid. I mist every so often if it's dry. Otherwise keep the top holes out to help it if it's too wet. Fanning just exchanges drier air for more evaporation after misting that's it. Not used for fae

I am still a little weary of this one pin....it has what looks like a stem growing out of the cap or something. Is this normal to see?

What are your thoughts?

Looks like a mutant. No biggie.
