Looks like one. But I couldn't tell you what kind. What part of the world are you in?

--------------------
One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree.
'Which road do I take?' she asked.
'Where do you want to go?' was his response.
'I don't know', Alice answered.
'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'

Sorry, I can't ID it any further than the fact that it seems to be an Acacia. Maybe Acacia rigidula. I doubt it is an active tree.

Plus it looks as if it's in a public area. We don't condone cutting public trees down to get high on in this forum. This being the case, I doubt it will get id'd.

What they said....
Just order some acacia bark from a vendor....much easier, and you know what you're getting.

Tree's in the wild are not an unlimited source, though.

Every time a kid hears about acacia/mimosa they start scouting the local area for tree's to "harvest".
That adds up quickly, making every tree with double compounded leaves a possible suspect to be "harvested".

I see that you won't be convinced.

Just out of curiosity, what country ARE you in....where it's supposedly so mysterious?

i have been doing drugs for 12 years and iam quite familiar with the scene in my place...we have hash, alchol, weed(synth and normal) ALOT of barbiturates, chemichals and opiates (different forms)...and thats it! and i dont do any of them anymore
Es dope psys (only shrooms if you can find it and nbome) are rare and you need to be really connected to get them!
and i d like to keep my animosity

Doing drugs for years doesn't make you an expert on what's in the area. You sound a bit naive for "a drug user of 12 years", no offense.
I always think I'm familiar with my place, then I hear of something brand new I've heard of before.

You're just not talking to the right people. The internet brings info worldwide, someone in your area knows about it..period.
I won't argue further, as it's pointless.

You can keep your "animosity"(anonymity) and still name the country you live in.

If you're gonna stick around and request more plant ID's, someone at some point will need to know what part of the world you're in.

especially since dmt grows in the middle east and would have been used in ritual magick for thousands of years.

This.

Acacia is even referenced in the Bible.
The Ark of the Covenant was made of Acacia.

I will chime in on the post here and say a little bit.

I don't want to steer the direction of the conversation away from identification of species.

Suffice it to say, it is a species of Acacia that can be found in the middle east, possibly endemic to the middle east. The thing about Acacia trees, are that.. Some are active. Some are not active.. and some only express the interesting phytochems at certain times of the year, like Spring.

You can check a list of DMT containing Acacias on wiki., but I would say.. you are probably going to have to play, (botanical researcher), looking at reference books and diagrams about leaf shape, flower type, pod shape, seed shape. I am sure that in time you can find out what tree it could most likely be.

Now, Outside of the fact that Acacias sometimes contain DMT., they are culturally important none the less, because there is the concept that the (ark of the Covenant) was supposedly fashioned from Acacia wood. It would be nice to have a tree of it growing in the garden, regardless.
