Childhood mistakes

When I was young I had a good friend that was also my neighbor who I grew up with.
I don't really know how it came about, I think a lot of it had to do with us having
watched 90210 believe it or not. But we wanted to 'practice' sex, we would undress and
play around pretending to be having what we perceived as sex, which was getting naked and humping missionary.
Nothing much further than that but perhaps the worst part was that we would actually french kiss.
It went beyond just playing around naked which I had done with other childhood friends with no problems.
Thinking back I don't even know exactly how old I was, I am thinking around 6 or 7, it was young.
I always felt this has probably had a negative effect particularly growing up through puberty.
I am sure this event isn't entirely fault to my misfortunes and shortcomings with relationships or whatever but I have and sometimes still do feel insecure and ashamed. It use to really bother me, especially growing up where the word 'faggot' was used all too often and literally just about everyone had a negative view on gay people.. Growing up for a little bit I didn't even know if I was gay or straight, even after I knew I liked girls I was very insecure and scared. Till this day I have never been in a relationship and am still a virgin, which I don't mind as much as I do being alone. Later on I heard from someone in passing that this type of behavior among young children isn't so uncommon and is even considered 'normal' by some people, has anyone else experience anything like this early on and did it effect you later on?
Fuck 90210, that show was trash, talking about being influenced by tv.

I would suggest you a therapist

I am not that bothered by it, its just still a bit weird and unfortunate.
It actually is a common thing, its called child sex play. I don't know what a therapist
is going to do, probably have me locked up and put on drugs. I am probably most disturbed
by the fact the this friend was of the same sex, I feel it further complicates the issue.

I don't see anything abnormal in playing like that when young, it just part of your development and most of us had some same sex experience at some stage in our lives.

Sexual experimentation among prebuescents is really quite common. In the majority of cases, I don't think it's detrimental in any way. I wouldn't worry about it really. And I certainly wouldn't attribute the kind of things you run into to this experience; what you and her have been going through is quite normal. You sound perfectly healthy to me!

At that young of an age theres no way you could even understand five percent of human sexuality. What you did was no different from wearing your dad's shoes and pretending to go to work.
You should really do some real research on childhood development. Some children actually masturbate to orgasm while they are still in diapers.
Plus playing "doctor" is so common its become a joke in our society. The fact that it was with a guy probably means next to nothing
