RogerRabbit's 8 hour steam: dye from towel in water
    #21715078 - 05/23/15 06:10 PM (8 years, 8 months ago)

I am sterilizing grain jars using RogerRabbit's 8 hour steam technique (I know get a PC) and just realized that the towels I have in the bottom of pots are leeching their dye into the steam water. Is this going to have an effect of the jars? If my understanding is correct when sterilizing jars, which are closed tightly and the hole is stuffed with polyfil and then aluminum foil tightly on top, there isn't really exchange between the outside of the jar and the inside. I could be wrong and there may be exchange which is why I ask. Is the fact that my steam water has dye leeched from the towels going to have an effect on my grains? Thanks.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, just wanted to double check before I ruin my 3 planned monotubs. I'm a relatively new member and although I've spent countless hours reading on here thought it would be best to get the opinion of someone more experienced. Thanks so much for the input
