If I worked 30-40 hours a week and still had to collect food stamps, I would find a new job.
No jobs in the area? I would move to a place with jobs.
No skills or education? I would learn a trade or go back to school.
I used to work at the mall for minimum wage, I quit and found a better job. Now I'm looking for an education to get even better wages.
No one is forced to work at Walmart or McDonald's. All these workers who wanna bitch and moan should have paid attention in high school, they tell you everyday to get good grades or life's gonna be tough.
It's never too late to get an education, you can even get financial aid to help with rent. The community college near me has a free daycare to help you save money. It's run by the people going to school for the child care Industry.
None of this shit is a secret, if you don't want to be poor, don't work at Walmart or McDonald's. and if you want your community to get better, make your kids do their school work and get good grades so they don't end up like your broke ass.

I wish having excellent grades and a degree was magically as helpful as they told us it would be in school. I know that my life is in my hands and im not blaming anyone else. But so far having those perfect grades and a degree has only been a pile of dept lol.

What was your degree in? Art history? If you have a four year college degree and you work at Walmart as a cashier for minimum wage, you fail at life.
Go back to school, enter the medical industry or get into trucking or something else that's actually useful and makes money.
There is nothing magical about it. There are industries in need of trained professionals, some of them pay a lot and some of them don't. It's on you to figure out which is which.
If you know that they are making self checkouts a regular thing in most stores these days, and you apply as a cashier. Then you have no long term plan for your life.
People don't plan to fail. They fail to plan.
