Stalled pins/No pins
    #2171009 - 12/10/03 03:33 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

Say there happens to be 1 cake, and 3 mycobags, completely colonized, sitting in a large rubbermaid container. And say the cake has a bunch of pins, nothing over an inch long, and they haven't grown for a few days. The bags have no pins after many many days of light. Is using x-mas lights in the container bad at all? Fanning once a day for about a half hour, should it be more often? Any advice would be appreciated.

The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.

fan more often(3 or 4 times a day) for much less time,it takes only a few seconds to displace the stale air with fresh air when fanning manualy.
if your pins haven't devoloped over a space of a few days then they have probably aborted, harvest them, dunk the cakes then roll in verm, mist and put them back in your terrarium.
think about getting an aquarium pump to perform your fanning for you.

edit...give the myco bags more time, they will probably pin in no time with more frequent air exchange.
