Spores Syringes and laminar flow hood

Is it possible to make Spore syringes without a laminar flow hood, and still avoid contamination, like spray disinfect the area intensely? Glove boxes would work fine right?

SAB / glove boxes are preferred to flow hoods because there is no air flow to blow away the cube spores.
Here's a SAB tek video:
and a syringe spore tek: http://www.shroomery.org/8403/Psilocybers-syringe-tek
Good luck!

I've been successful without one - Just gotta make sure the air has been off for a while, the windows are shut, and that you haven't opened the door in a while. (Turning the whole room into a still air box just about)

Key word. YOU'VE been successful without one whereas I haven't. Unless you measure success by just merely getting fruits. I measure it by contamination rates. I use agar and that requires taking the lid off. I dare you to leave a dish open for 5 seconds in open "still" air. A still air box isn't even 100% sterile. It takes 5 minutes to make and once you get used to doing everything in it, you just can't imagine yourself not using one.
Also a great video but I'd HIGHLY recommend getting a tote bigger than 66 qts

I'm not mad lol and nice pun I just wasn't using emoticons haha. I was trying to be polite as well as informative sorry I came off mad. Wasn't my intention. I have done lots of open air work in what I thought was pretty a pretty still bathroom and lots of still air box work. I definitely noticed a difference when switching

Maybe I've just been lucky, but I've been lucky at least 6 times now I won't work in a bathroom simply because (at least for me) there's a higher chance of contamination due to bacteria (from filthiness) or other molds (from the moisture content that's frequently in the air due to hot showers and the lack of ventilation)

Anything that doesn't require taking the lid off should work in open air. Making syringes, working with prints, g2gs, and agar is all stuff that everyone should just man up and use in a still air box or else they'll end up frustrated like I was lol.
If you don't mind me asking, have you done anything with the lid off in open air and succeeded?

I honestly don't understand the question, as I don't have a SAB. As soon as I get into Agar I'll make one. Maybe. If I get a contaminate or two.
