hey peeps, totally new to shroom hunting and as overwhelmed as i am fascinated!!
I've done lots of reading on this site as well as others and feel i am slowly learning, its going to be a long journey though.

possible psilocybe subaeruginosa mushroom 1 and 2

Species #

Habitat:amongst moss and leaf litter under bracken fern in plantation eucalyptus

Gills:pale but maybe smokey, somewhat detached

Stem:white and firm

Cap: gold / yellow with a distinct umbro

Bruising: blue br using on stem and cap, developed immediately

General location: north Tasmania

mushroom 3 and 4 also suspected  psilocybe subaeruginosa

Species #

Habitat:near by location 1 however not directly under ferns

Gills:pale smokey somewhat detached

Stem:white

Cap: yellow gold

Bruising: deep blue bruising immediately

General location: north Tasmania

mushroom 5 and 6 possible  Galerina Sp.

Species #

Habitat: leaf litter and rotting wood

Gills:pale

Stem:white possible blue but less defined br using, even after rough pinching and bending

Cap: domed and deep gold

Bruising: limited if any at all

General initially suspected subaeruginosa but although the stem was white and already had some blueish sections ,it didnt seem to bruise any further blue and even seemed to become clear and show its darker interior.

1,2,3,4 Psilocybe subaeruginosa. Really good work spotting these partially dry subs so early into hunting! It took me a while to figure out what subs looked like when dry.

Spore print should be dark(purple) and the subs should all smell the same, a distinct farinaceous smell

Not sure about the galerinas, wait for a TI

1-4 are all subs.

5-6 could be as well, tough call. It does look like there's some bruising but always better safe than sorry.

As far as I can tell 5-6 might be subs. They're just pins so it's a bit difficult. I suggest to OP to check this habitat after some rain. You'll be able to identify them much easier

Yea I'm leaning towards subs on those too, but I think OP will have to be the final judge. If they are bluing then they are good, but if he's unsure he probably shouldn't risk it.

what makes you think they are galerinas? galerina have orange spores (so the stipe often looks rusty) and an annulus (a ring around the stipe) from the solid veil that breaks at maturity.
the last two have a cobweb-like veil, so the toxic look alikes are more likely to be Cortinarius or something...

interested to know what they are, as they look very sub like to me... how long did you wait for the bruising?

As far as I can tell they are subs, they're just immature and also wet opposed to the dry mature ones OP picked. The distinct morphology differences specimen to specimen can be confusing to beginners. I suggest picking them in a few days when they're mature and post a pic here  They look promising, a lot like the subs I've been finding

yeah sorry was referring to the OP in my post... i believe them to be subs myself, and have found some with no obvious blue bruising as well. i just ditch them to be safe though.

They are all Psilocybe subaeruginosa. 5&6 should be bruising by now.

hey all sorry i have had a couple of hectic days.
managed to get out again yesterday, same area but just on a different gully.
seen heaps of old half rotten subs, plenty of pins too!
managed to get this lot in an hour or so, most i was completely sure about, anything that wasn't trying to imitate a smurf i spore printed and they all came out the same dark purplish colour.
the big one on the bottom left im  fairly sure is a sub too, but it wasn't really bruising and it was fairly old and mangy looking so i tossed it.

Actually many, probably even most Galerina species do not have an annulus.
