Psychosis after LSD (help needed) 1

I know I posted this in the Pub but I'm also posting this here in case some of you guys have better advice (This part of the forum is dedicated to Physical & Mental Well Being after all)
So I took acid with a friend of mine two days ago. He had a terrible trip and was convinced everyone in the room was making fun of him. He left in the morning and went to work. I saw him a couple hours ago and he has completely lost touch with reality. He is convinced he's being followed everywhere he goes and kept pointing at random people on the street saying they were following him. He completely melted down at work and got fired.
He has no previous history of mental illnesses that I know of. I know this kind of situation usually gets better with time but I am a bit concerned. Should I wait a few days and see what happens or should I bring him to a doc ASAP ?

Umm shit man get him a benzo or something to try and bring him down a notch. i have gotten a lil wigged out if i have a bad transition after the trip. i always plan to do nothing the entire next day but reflect and relax. I also like to try and get some sleep after the trip. I always feel tweeked the fuck out the day after if i dont get any sleep.

Sounds like a problem within the head of your good buddys. My GF reacted thr same way on Cid. Everyone was making fun of her she convenienced herself. Id have to bet your friend has had a serious Social Anxiety issue. When we cannot control our own emotions, and they dictate our thiughts, ultimately it dictates our actions.
show your friend empathy. Tell him how it all really works. People arent always thinking bad or anything about you when they look at you. We are all in our own heads all the time. The sickest of us convince we must be right. Whatever it is we think about. In your friends case, every one making fun of him.
Id imagine it has happened alot.

I have experience with this. It happened after a cold turkey from Xanax and the guy is sure he is being targeted but refuses to see a doc.
In retrospect it was always latent in him by the behavior noted in the past. If you can get him to a doc I think it might be easier for him in the long run. However, I see ads on tv for judgements against the makers of Risperdal, a commonly prescribed anti-psychotic. So in the end perhaps it is his own decision whether to take the meds or not.

Wow, I wish I could offer you advice but I'm not sure what would be best. I guess dragging him to a doctor isn't going to be too beneficial. I'd probably stay in close touch with him to see if the situation improves with a couple of nights of rest.
Is this the friend of yours I met at Boom?

Get him medicated, it will probably only be short term like 6 months, since this is first episode and there's no family history, meaning it's a temporary psychosis that will alleviate but will be much more bearable on medication, the mild brain damage that has occurred already will mostly recover. If chronic schizophrenia develops and he is not treated with medications large areas of brain matter will be destroyed. The only weapon docs have against the huge 'forest fire' of brain damage that occurs with the onset of chronic schizophrenia is early intervention, the earlier the more the 'fire' is stemmed.

Just talk to the dude and help him relax. he's in NO danger of losing brain tissue or anything. maybe he IS being watched. Maybe he finally snapped back at someone deserving at work.
Spend some time with him, share some love from your heart, it should be enough
PS the "doctors" of modern "medicine" dont even have a remedial understanding of the dense physical 3rd dimension so dont worry too much about what they think they know

Yep, that's him. Thanks a lot man, your words mean a lot to me. It hurts to see a friend like that It is slowly getting better though so I haven't called a doc yet, will do on monday if he's not completely back to normal. He's still feeling a bit far out but at least the paranoid delusions have stopped.

I'm sure you mean well, but from your post I can tell you've never had to deal with that kind of situation. It is very real and very serious. Sharing love won't be enough, your sense of logic is completely abolished and you can't differentiate between reality and fantasy. In his case he is slowly getting better, but that's potentially dangerous advice you're giving out there.. To anyone who might read this in the future, if you happen to be in the same situation than me and things don't get better after a few good nights of sleep, DO take yourself/your friend to a doctor.

except it's not the Middle Ages anymore. You wannabe internet shamans drive me nuts spreading your crystals & kumba yah ireadterencemckennaandatemushroomsandamnowanexpert bullshit. Medical advances are real, medical issues are real, and medical issues require evidence based treatment, not pseudo spiritual bullshit. This kind of misinformation you folks spread cause harm.

we've survived this long w/o "western" medicine. I'm sorry if I'm hesitant to be treated by a "doctor" who was taught by what is deemed "publicly appropriate".
you dont have to be a Shaman to know if something like that is unreliable
I've never read terrence mckenna. all I know is he is frequently mentioned here.

You can accept the information I have presented or you can ignore it. Regardless, it IS reality.
When you take someone sailing or boating, if you are the captain/skipper, their lives are in your hands. it is your responsibility. DO NOT let him get processed by the machine.

I have had the same thing happen to me over lsd use and pot.It was different, but I was convinced ppl were out to get me, even people who wanted to help me. Its very hard to convince people in that mind set to change their way of thinking. It took me years to get out of that state of mind, after a long journey with religion, and then last year with ayahuasca which seemed to completely wake me up from it. Those were my medications. Honestly I had to back away from the religion because it was actually making me worse. Belief in demons that were playing tricks on me, things like that. Though it is possible that this is what was happening, a lot of it is buried in the psyche of the person. Its like letting outside influences effect you, not having any sense of freedom or power of your own. Or you feel like life is a movie and that people are nothing but pawns with no feeling, and you're just the only real person in the world. Kind of like the Truman Show movie. That's honestly never a place I want to be again because it is truly a something that makes you feel utterly alienated from reality and from people. Your friend needs to stop judging people and think of them just like him, not like robots who are being mind controlled. That ayahausca made me see that a whole lot, that people are just individuals, souls as you will. It was a pretty cool experience.

I didnt mean to offend or anger anybody, I am truly sorry for any harm I have caused.
I still would advise against psychiatric medicine that is not naturally obtainable,
including fake LSD

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that. Good to hear that there is improvement though. And God bless you for caring for him and keeping an eye on him.
From what SpiritualWarrior just said and from an experience with a friend of mine it seems unlikely that this type of stuff fades over night. I hope you'll be able to stay in touch with him closely. I say "able to" because I can imagine if any delusions of reference persist that he might cut people of.
Anyways, I'm with you both in thought and I'll shoot you a pm later to see how things are developing.
Love.
