after full colonization and week consolidation i just birthed two cakes out of five. one of them showed a yellowish brown color just today and after rinsing the cake the color appeared a little bit greenish! i thought it could be metabolite so i birthed rinsed the two cakes and then dunked them! but before leaving the place i smelled the cups the one that had this colors smelled distinctively bad!! The other one smelled more like mushroom? contamination? I dunked both together

before and after birthing and rinsing.

Using the same dunk water is not the end of the world for your other cakes. Get rid of the suspect and keep a good eye on the other ones through out fruiting.

Does not sound that extensive, you should be fine. Just keep an eye out and remember to toss out ASAP when you spot green. Learn the difference between myc bruising blue vs. what trich looks like. I get deceived at first glance sometimes by the bruising myc.

Contamination is just the name of the game. Being home mycologists it is out of our power ( or at least very expensive ) to create a totally 100% clean environment. So everywhere around us is bacteria and mold spores. Our goal is to eliminate as much baddies as possible, so the myc has a winning chance. Odds are contamination is going to happen through out your myco career. Its all about perfecting sterile techniques to lower your chances of failure!
Also contamination can hide from sight, therefore we do the smell test. You did the right thing throwing out the sour smell.

Sometimes metabolites show up when bacteria is present.
But when you let cakes/jars over consolidate they can also form....
I've spawned older grain jars with 2" of yellow liquid metabolites in them and oured off the liquid and they colonized the bulk sub and fruited several flushes kust fine!
