I have jars that are not fully colonized yet there's a lot of pinning. Should I birth them to bulk ASAP?

Pinning before full colonization is often indicative of contamination. Pics would help a diagnosis.

Just a general view. I have 10 of them doing this but the mycelium is all white and no other colors. Some of them ranging from this to 85% colonization.

Those look like they could be fully colonized. What part isn't colonized?

It could be some of dry verm got shifted and fell in between the jar. Making it look like it isn't fully colonized to me. If that's the case should I let it take a bath as soon as possible and mix it with the bulk?

Yeah that happens a fair bit. The cakes shrink and the dry verm falls down the sides. Those are probably good to go.

Thanks for the info. Another question, one of my jars got dropped and a few days later on the bottom there was a bluish green. The mycelium grew over it and the jar is all white now. Could that have been trich or was it just bruising on the cake? It has the fastest growth of all the jars.

Yeah what I think was bruising showed up a few days later. If it was trich could it be growing underneath or would it just overtake the white mycelium on the outside?

Well trich myc is white and cubes will often grow overtop of it. But its pretty rare to see trich invitro especially on the bottom of a cake. If your really in doubt I would just leave that cake out and fruit it as a cake.

I was always under the impression that trich is green. Say I do grow it as a cake and it is trich what are the complications of ingestion?

Trich spores are green. Its mycelium is bright white. If you grow it and its contamed just toss it. If you grow mushrooms and it contams then pick the mushrooms and toss it. Trich is everywhere, it inhabites every square inch of soil on the planet. If you have ever eaten produce I guarantee you have eaten trich. It won't hurt you. It will hurt your grow.

Oh man this happened to every cake in my first grow! I finally birthed one out of frustration and noticed
