Gardeners stealing *my* mushrooms?
    #21701190 - 05/20/15 05:27 AM (8 years, 8 months ago)

Two years in a row I have gone to my local botanic gardens which is rather massive; it has a road through it.

Whenever the conditions are right, when my normal patch elsewhere is fruiting I go to the botanic gardens in hope of finding some magic.

Two years in a row I find many holes in the mulch beds and by many I mean MANY. It looks like somebody has pulled out the mushrooms completely.

I found so many Leratiomyces ceres its not even funny. The conditions are right, all these are mulch beds that are watered everyday thus very moist. Temps are fine I beleieve.

Are they stealing my potential magic?

lol.

they might not be but im sure there are plenty of other people who are taking what they find and think the universe has smiled on them.

no-one owns them  please do not claim ownership!

it may also be animals.

Botanic gardens are the most obvious spots so there'd be a lot of competition there. If you think you have found patches that should be fruiting but you've gotten there late, plan ahead and get the worm

Pretty convinced this is a troll.. who the hell claims ownership of a patch in a totally public area? :doublefacepalm:

A "private" patch is bound to be found by others sooner or later. But then there's the continuous thrill
of perpetually hunting for new spots. Basically what keeps me hunting for actives these days.

Maybe I need to start doing more traveling and searching for new areas. I love my current areas I typically hunt, but New locations can be exhilarating
I agree, you can't claim ownership on a wild patch if it it's not on your property.

That's why I said *my* mushrooms because I know they are not mine but this is the first time in my area I've ever experienced any kind of competition whatsoever. I find this funny because nobody in my area can buy mushrooms let alone know how to pick them!

I see.. I thought the asterisks were more of an emphasis of how they were YOURS. Maybe you should have used quotation marks and said "mine" instead. I apologise for calling you a troll
