Dry mush bag??

I ordered a mush bag online a couple of days ago. When i received it i noticed it was dry. There doesnt seem to be any moisture at all. Will this be a problem? Will the mycelium still spread? The reason i ask is that the last time i ordered a mush bag (from another website)there was much more humidity in the bag. I am considering adding some steril water inn the syringe "hole" before incubation.

No visible moisture in the bag does not mean the grain is not hydrated. You actually don't want visible moisture in the bag. You should post a pic but I'm gonna say for now that its fine.

Then there should definitely not be visible moisture.

It does look a bit dry but I wouldn't try and add more water. That would likely screw things up more.
FYI kids this is why its always better to do this stuff yourself and remove the guesswork from the equation.

Why would it screw things up more? Not talkin much, just a tiny bit. Or just try to inject some spores and hope for the best?

Cause you have no idea where the moisture content actually is at. Excess moisture is far worse than a little dry. Also its going to be really difficult to distribute evenly in the bag.
Personally I would just throw that thing away and do the pf tek.

I have recently done so with several, mycobags that seemed dry, and pumped a syringe of sterile water into each one, with great success. I broke up the partially colonized spawn at that time. Id suggest giving it a couple of weeks after inoculation before taking this step though. A lot could go wrong and you could contam the spawn easily.

What does it cost to buy one of them things? I can make one myself for about $1 or less if I skip the brf and use grain.

Nice! Ill just try without adding any water first though. If it doesnt work i can start experimenting

I could made one myself. I actually have the ingredients. What i dont have is a pressure cooker, nor do i have a place to use it if i had one. i live with 3 randoms in an apartment. I dont want them asking alot of questions :P So for me it is better to buy a substrate thats pre-sterilized. The bag cost $26 pluss another 20 for shipping. So i hope this works.

Dude its a really bad idea to grow behind peoples backs. In the last few years alone I have seen people get kicked out of their apts, jailed, and broken families. You're playing with fire.
Also you do not need a pc to do the pf tek. That's pretty much the point behind it.
Also for $46 bux I could run a dozen monos. That is outrageous.

I know i dont need a pc, but i still need to sterilize it in a normal cooker. And there is no need to worry about the people, they're cool. Except maybe one, and he is moving out soon, so whatever. I just dont want to be all up in their faces about it, thats all.
