If bugs didn't creep me out I would love to have a hive or two. Would be amazing having fresh raw honey for all sorts of projects.

Woodworking is rad. I have a dream to one day build my own guitar
I used to have a woodworking class and the teacher hated me I was always making rubber band guns and stuff and fucking around majorly.
We had top fights too, even made a top arena for them to battle in. I swear sometimes one would go flying 10-20 feet.

Bear in mind you should follow rather strict plans, don't get too creative. I am apiphobic since taking a course of Apiculture in college.

I was just about to suggest the same thing. Bees definitely are pretty specific about the dimensions of their living quarters.

Yeah, probably. I just put my largest Kratom in the ground this summer (during your move, I believe). It got too big to try to keep pulling it inside every winter. Here's a pic

I took that the day I planted it. Now that I look at that pic, I notice how much it has actually grown since then. I'll have to get an updated pic of what it looks like now. I hope it does well over the winter and doesn't suffer too much, only time will tell, but I didn't really have much of an option due to it's size.
As far as trichs go, I should probably try to put a couple in the ground to see how it does, but I kind of got a scare last winter. I have all mine in pots and left them outside a little too long and they got hit with an early frost, and practically all my plant's growth tips suffered frost damage. I guess if I were to plant them out, I would have to cover them or something for the winter.
Does anybody here have cacti in the ground that they cover for the winter? Would that work? Or am I just out of luck for cacti in the ground? I'm in Zone 8.
And in other news, I think I finally might have my Kratom rooting figured out! Haven't lost a single one out of nearly 50 (or so) I started over the last few weeks. Soooo..... everybody keep a look out in the marketplace in the next few weeks for some Kratom babies FT...

Right on man, your Kratom is a beauty
Are you in zone 8A,or 8B? I think they can successfully be grown outdoors in the ground in either 8B,or 9A upwards. I'm in 9B,and I put a few cuttings out in the ground near where I fish.
It's rained nearly everyday that I've been here, but they are still kicking!

I'm just BARELY in 8B. What are you referring to that can be grown in 8B and up? Cacti or Kratom? I would love to get some cacti in the ground for them to get their roots spread out nicely. I hope the Kratom makes it - but I honestly didn't have much of a choice in that matter. It literally wouldn't fit through the door at this point to come inside for the winter any more. I couldn't get it outside in the spring without almost knocking off every leaf and breaking the branches.

That's all the motivation I need, then. This week I'm gonna plant one or two in the ground and see how they do. Do you have any outdoors? Do you (or anybody else reading) find they need to cover their cacti to keep them from getting frost damage?

Here's today's pepper harvest -

Bottom to top- Jalapeno, Thai Chili pepper, Paper Lantern Habanero, Moruga Scorpion pepper.
And here's another shot of one of my Bolivian Rainbows. It's starting to display a larger variety of colors. I love this plant. It just got watered after a hot day, so it's a little droopier than normal.

Beautiful man
I forget, did you get the Bolivian seeds from me?
Mine is super bushy, but no fruits due to the fact that I don't get full sun
Yours looks amazing though, and I would overwinter it to put out next spring.
They will live for years this way,and mine will be going on three next spring!

Yeah, they came from you. Thank you again, btw! I have never successfully overwintered a pepper plant before. I tried one last winter and it didn't make it, but I think that might be because I didn't prune it back any when I brought it in...
Besides the two Bolivian Rainbows I have, I am also going to try to bring the Jalapeno, Thai, Paper Lantern Hab, Yaki Brown Hab, and Moruga Scorpions in this winter.

They are! Especially the Moruga. Unless something has recently changed, the Moruga Scorpion holds the title of world's second hottest pepper clocking in at over 2,000,000 Scoville units (that's twice as hot as a 'Ghost Pepper'). I convinced they guys at work to eat some of them the other day and the reactions were hilarious! (They knew what they were, though, I'm not mean enough to trick someone like that)

I thought you were the one who first mentioned overwintering, that is why. I could have just been / out of it in general
I may attempt moving some inside or too a heated greenhouse too at least extend their season. It is cooling down a lot here already

You don't really have to prune the Bolivians to bring them in,but it does help. Peppers are really easy to overwinter, and during the winter months just grow em like you do your houseplants until you put them out the following spring. Supplemental lighting,or a good sunny window helps tremendously though!
