I like how everything he put in front of his flowhood was actually like 3 inches under the flow of air due to the thick ass frame of his flowhood... Watching that video made me do some serious there were just so many things done wrong.
LOL! Here is a spore syringe video that may be even worse!!

hope this video link helps and I use the chisel blade type for the exacto. the blade almost looks like a really thin flat head screwdriver. works great.

That video is terrible.....the shot glass and all the tools used should have been sterilized....not sanitized with an unsterile substance.......secondly he scraped off 1000x more spores than actually needed, making the syringe extremely dark, then said much less spores should have been used.....well how much less exactly? Don't know, because he didn't say.....Is all that sucking up and expunging the spores neccesary? No. Not at all. If I was a noob watching that video, I would be left with more questions than answers.....just sayin
He also flame sterilized the needle, then wiped it with alcohol.....
Wiping a flame sterilized tool with an unsterile substance like alcohol is like wiping shit on your face after a shower.
He used a blade when a loop should have been used......I can keep going but it's getting redundant....lol
I found a better spore syringe making in the amu thread by theshroomy1 hope this is better pf

Just a slight deviation from the standard....
- take a cap that has been hopefully not exposed to much
- get a square of foil and heat that sucker up... A lighter would do the trick nicely.
- put cap on foil after cooled - cover with a sterilized glass - wait a day for print.
- boil some water (bottled RO water seems like it would be 'right') ---- make sure this water is covered until cool - maybe microwave the water and cover with seran wrap?
- get a medical 10cc syringe - not hard to get, and are pre-wrapped.
- suck up some of the sterilized water into the syringe
- push out 3 or so drops of water from the syringe onto the print
- stir it around with the tip of the syringe... you should be able then suck up all of the spores.
This method hasn't knocked up anything yet. Dunno if it's contaminant free, but sterile tech was used, so this could be an alternative method.
The only worry is if there is more than spores being on the spore print. You'll be stirring those around with the tip of the sterile syringe and pulling everything up.
What do you guys think? Just a slight adaptation from the norm, basically to not have to mess with an exacto knife. Just one more thing to contaminate the rig.
Feel free to delete this, move it, molest it, insult it, etc. I won't take it personally.

Boiling water won't sterilize it as the temp never gets over 212f.
Foil is sterile until something lands on it.
Seems easier and better to just scrape some spores onto agar rather than messing around with syringes.

I see advantages to both.

That actually sounds like a cool way to do a spore syringe. I put the spores on agar, but I'm gonna keep this in mind for any spore syringes I make in the future!
