I ruined a kids life in rugby...

During tonight's game I made a tackle on the sideline and the kids neck broke when my leg landed on his head. I felt it, i felt everything. I heard it, it was like biting uncooked pasta... Hes alive but Jesus fucking Christ why me? What if he dies, can I live with it!? I still fucking cry when I have to kill rats. Pray for him, Stephen Tosi

Sending him and you my thoughts and prayers. Accidents happen - and yeah, they happen to all extremes and all potential extremity of consequences.
Consider everything about it, and that will strengthen your character and bring a deeper sense to you - and that will make the experience not a purposeless waste, but something that turns into great benefit for yourself and for many people you encounter in the future.
All experience can be harvested to deepen consciousness, if it's considered fully.

Did you mean to go in heavy or was it accidental?
Rugby is a dangerous sport. Quite a few schools and other places won't host it because of the risks. A friend messed up his back and neck pretty bad playing it but he knew the risks involved. I think you'd have to be aware of, and accepting of the risks when you do get into rugby.

As an ex rugby player( league and union) I feel your pain. Injuries are inevitable and in my time I have ended two players careers and had mine ended through injury. I daresay your opposition will not blame you personally, as they say " it's all part of the game".
Keep in touch with him and keep in mind his teammates will always include him in the team activities and such. Also medical advancements in spinal reconstructive surgery are always advancing.
Good luck to him and you and don't blame yourself.

Both american football and rugby are equally vicious sports. Ive played both for 6 years and I can tell your first hand a lot more people get hurt in american football. Helmets make you feel too invincible, but holy crap its fun. You may occasionally see a good tackle in american foot ball, mostly they just run into each other. Rugby however people tackle different, with a lot of power but also control, football tackles are stronger but you can because pads.

Thank you so much for this. People are usually football or rugby, not both.
