Hey gang I cureently cannot supply photos of what I have picked but background is
About 3 weeks ago in the southern highlands I came across some Amanita muscaria
Big red mush rooms with white spots . I didnt know at the time but I had a feeling they were Pyshcadelic but I didn't pick them then and there . I went home and did some more research and to my conclusion I felt that they were definately the Amanita muscarias.
Anywho I live about 1 hour and abit away from the location I found them and it was only untill 3-4 weeks later that I found the time to go out and pick them. However when I had returned to pick them it had been a few days of sun , not much moisture and very cold .
I went to the exact spot I last saw them but this time they were not red and lively. They lost a lot of their colour and looked abit dead . I picked them anyway and got about 4-5 large ones and put them in a shopping bag and kept it in my coat poket for the 1.5 hour drive back home .
When I got home i was shocked when I took the mushrooms out of my poket . They were bright red with white spots ! Something to do with either the heat from my body or the humidity of the bag and darkness from my jacket brought them back to life !? It was awesome !
Anywho i was very excited but I had to prep and pack for a 1 week job interstate . I wasn't sure how to store them as I didn't have time to research so what I did was put them in a air tight zip loc plastic bag with those moisture capturing sasches that you get when you buy certain dried foods / goods and also put it in a air tight glass cookie jar and placed it in the dark in a dry cupboard.
I am not sure if this was a good idea or not so I am very curious and was hoping if anyone could give me advise/opions . Will these be ok to consume despite the condition I found them in and the way I have stored them ?
When i get back from work on Saturday I will take photos of them and post asap but for now all I can do is type on my iPhone.
( in terms of how I plan to consume them I was thinking of using a food dryer and then grinding them down to a powder and then drinking it hot tea style ? Is this a wise way to go about it?)

I'm not experienced at all with the consumption of Amanita muscaria, but they should apparently be dried prior to consumption due to the content of Ibotenic acid in fresh specimens. Also you should, as with all mushrooms picked for consumption, be sure they are healthy specimens devoid of rot or maggot infestation.
As for the inebriating qualities of A. muscaria, they are not, to my knowledge at least, considered psychedelic.

Amanitas are NOT psychidelic. Sure, you'll get high. But this isn't the magically fun high you want.

Ok Ive read a few threads now on these mushrooms and I am getting a feel for what people think about these mushrooms . However I havnt found much info on weather or not picking them in the state I found them is good or not however I don't think I want to risk it as I did read one person stating that with age and rot they could produce a toxic you don't want to consume .
I might give these a pass if you guys think I should however I am really keen to try dmt and I am a very spiritual person that practices meditation

As already stated, Amanita muscaria doesn't produce a psychedelic experience, and is very different from for instance DMT, Psilocybin and LSD. You should read up on the substances you are interested in. There is more than enough information available.

That's good advice for any mushrooms you are thinking of eating too.

Good. And Muscaria can be more better compared to PCP.

and i knowwww i shouldnt blindly trust and belive in so much stuff that i see and read on the internet but the guy seemed to know what he was talking about and he got heaps so I straight away assumed that I found something special
