Hi everybody,
This is a first time post for me as I registered just now, but I've been a regular reader on shroomery for general info concerning mushrooms etc. I live in the Netherlands and I am legally growing Equadorian Cubensis from a kit a bought in a smart shop. It's been two and a half weeks and the mushrooms seem to be growing very well. This morning though I've discovered some small blackish spots at the bottom of the mushroom on the mycelium. Also there are some mushrooms growing on the inside of the container on the side. One of the smaller mushrooms which is growing there is developing a slight green color. The mushrooms themselves appear to look good in my judgement. They have reached an average height of 3 cm by now.
The kit I've used is a magicbox equadorian grow system from sirius products.
I've posted some pictures below and was hoping some of the more advanced growers could give me some comments on whether or not I should be worried about the "mold" or whether everything is fine. It is the first flush I am growing and I did everything according to the guidelines that came in the packaging.
Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
PS, if an admin thinks this post is in the wrong place or whatever, place let me know. I don't have a lot of experience posting on forums.

Thank you!

Disclaimer that I'm (definitely) not an expert, but I'd wager that that is green mold.

Is that bad? It doesn't seem to be on the shrooms, also there is no strange smell except for an earthy mushroom like odor. I swept it with a qtip and only if I put real pressure on it it would just slightly come off.. Any body got any second opinions? Thank you anyway wyedue!

I'm with wydue. That's trichoderma. It's very bad. If you don't want to heavily contaminate your grow area but still want mushrooms (cause the ones that don't get green will be edible, trich is edible but I wouldn't eat that shit) you should continue fruiting outside or a place far far away from your grow room you don't care about.

.. So let me see if I get this right. Do I cut away the mold part and put the rest in a new growing box? I can't grow outside as the weather is too cold here still. Or do I just leave it growing and harvest the ones that aren't green? Sorry English isnt my first language so I'm not sure I understand. Is it still possible to save the growing kit or should I just go and get a new one? I just grow them in my living room btw. Thanks for the info guys

Hi Mad Season,
Thank you for your reply on my question concerning contamination and covering the trichoderma part. I've made some better pictures. Can I still eat the mushrooms that don't have the trich growing directly on them? Because it seems to be only growing on the mycelium.
I was thinking i'd harvest the fruits now and cut away the trichoderma part and see what happens on a second flush? You reckon that's worth it? I don't have any other cakes at the moment so there's no real danger of ruining others.
Here are some pictures >
Thank you in advance.

Personally I've never seen penicillium in person or something similar to be able to say for sure if it is or isn't contaminated, but I can for sure say based on the new clear pics it isn't trich. It looks like some crazy bruising imo. However penicillium, stuff found in cheese is also very edible (though I'm pretty sure it's just bruising). So basically yes those mushrooms are edible. I wouldn't cut it out and you could probably get another flush too.
