As a high schooler i had my room searched by a relative who is a cop. It was not fun, I'd say traumatizing, i can't imagine how it would've gone if i got caught woth the acid i had (he was searching for weed And paparaphernalia). He found maybe 2 hitters worth of bud, a foil that i wrapped a edible in, and empty containers that once had weed in them. I also had a bowl (in couch cushions), several hits of acid(back of ps2 with pot seeds), a fifth of vodka hidden in my printer.
It was pretty scary, I'm to tired right now to post to many details. He said he could get a drug dog to search so i pointed in the general area where the lesser of the drug evils were stashed.
The thing that really pissed me off was he came back to town 5 years later after i turned twenty one. He was bragging about how funny it was that he found everything in about 5 seconds (we were drinking). God I've never wanted to stab someone so bad, much less a relative. I just bit my tongue harder than ever. I actually contemplayed suicide quite a few times thanks to how shittily my family handled the ordeal. Having to talk to counselors, long ass lectures avout how smoking pot is gonna make me suicidal. My mom pretty much googled "son on drugs" i saw the history, and she was taking tips from people who dealt with heroin addicts and applying that to me because i smoked pot. Fucking nightmare.
Idk I'll post more details when i see i posted here tomorrow. But yeah having a relative cop search your house is very shitty, i can't imagine having a cop who wanted me arrested search my house.

Damn that sounds pretty rough man! That asshole could use a good dose o psychs to shatter his inflated cop ego.
Good thing he didn't find the acid indeed, your family would have freaked the fuck out I imagine if that's how they reacted to weed...
My mom was arrested for growing weed years ago and I was in the living room when they knocked on the door.
But they were honestly not "friendly" but seemed surprisingly calm about it all. Though I was pretty young so I don't remember it the best at all.
Fucked up part was they claimed a neighbor "heard fans" by our garage and put in a tip, so they got a warrant and came to search the house

Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

Yep. Short version, sister of a friend who was staying at my house called the cops on him saying he had a gun and a pipe bomb. SWAT and a shit load of police showed up at my house and searched it top to bottom looking for the gun and pipe bomb (which didn't exist in the first place).
Long version, a friend had been staying with me for awhile because him and his sister had been having issues. She was his guardian (both his parents were dead). He was being the typical 14 year old teen that was struggling with his life. Skipping school, leaving whenever he wanted, fighting with his guardian trying to prove they couldn't control him, etc. His sister happens to be a vindictive psycho bitch.
Anyways he was at my house chilling with a girl and they were getting all flirty. They decided to leave to find some place more private. Right as he's walking out the back door, I get a phone call. It's a dispatcher asking about my friend and his whereabouts and everything. I tell them he just left. She tells me to stay in the house and that the police are out front responding to an emergency. I go look out front and SWAT is parked right out front of my house, along with at least 10 police cruisers and a ton of cops with assault rifles and shotguns all lined up facing my house like you see in hostage stand offs.
Just about the time I see them, I hear a bunch of yelling at the side of my house. The cops had caught him and his girl right as he came around the corner. Were yelling at both of them to put their hands up and get down on the ground with several cops having their guns pointed straight at them. He complies and they put him in cuffs. Then they ask my grandmother if they can search the house, although they don't say why at first. She agrees and they start tearing everything up. This is in a period of my life that not only was I huffing gas (and kept a can locked up in a safe in my room as that's where I'd do it) as well as all my bongs and pipes I'd made. I had a hobby of making anything and everything into a bong that I could. Most of it was just to see if I could.
So needless to say I'm sweating bullets. How the fuck am I supposed to explain why I have a gas can locked up in a safe in my room, or why there are entire boxes of bongs and pipes made out of everything imaginable. They find them all, but they don't say anything about it. Eventually after they've cleared the house, they tell us what's going on. Then I realize why they haven't said anything about the shit I was worried about, because they weren't there for that.
I don't actually know what happened to his sister after this, but it was apparent to them after the fact that it was a lie. Friend still goes to juvi because he had warrants, but he's clear of gun and bomb charges.
And the procedure is simple, they come in, and start digging through everything imaginable. They don't just lift shit up and peek, they search everything and toss it into a pile. It's a lot like what you see in movies/tv when they execute search warrants of murder suspects and shit. They tear the fucking house apart. They have 0 respect for your home or belongings.

With my face against the floor I can’t see who knocked me out of the way. I don’t want to get back up but I have to so it might as well be today. Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear. I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear. You can't wake up, this is not a dream. Have not had it personally but generally speaking, they will trash shit and make a huge mess. They will treat your property like shit, break things - in some cases intentionally. If they don't find anything they won't apologize.
Best option is to make sure they cannot get a warrant in the first place. The less people see at one's domicile the better, and the fewer people who ever see anything at all to start with, better still. Don't talk about shit, brag about shit. Simple yet soo many set their own traps.

Just watch the show COPS if you are curious about how a police search warrant is done. I have seen several on the show.
Without warning they will go up to the door, like 5-10 men deep, start banging on the door yelling "POLICE SEARCH WARRANT! POLICE SEARCH WARRANT!" then moments later smash your door down. They look for you, because in their minds you are a possible threat (you could have a gun/weapon.), take you into custody, & then search the shit out of your place for what they are looking for.

I think they go out of their way to smash and break shit. It's like the one time they get a free pass to destroy a house with no repercussions. They will take sledge hammers to your walls if they have reason to believe you've stashed something in it.
They could've even meant to hit your neighbors house or something and they'll do thousands in damage to your home without even so much as an "oops".
If you ever get your house searched, prepare to feel the most violated you've ever felt. They will trash your house and leave you to clean up the mess. They don't even try to be respectful about it.

Yeah I would rather have thieves break in and steal some things than cops come though and conduct a "search". They are free to do as much damage as they like, going well beyond what might be deemed necessary or expedient to the ostensible goal of finding contraband.
I think it is one way cops mete out "justice" or punishment, though it is CLEARLY not their job to do so. The great part is, by this point you are already an enemy/scumbag in their minds so they feel justified in doing so. Basically even if nothing is turned up you deserve it, including all collateral damage.
There are many reasons for this - the psychology of many who seek to become cops for example. At a macroscopic level though, I think it goes to a long-standing and endemic problem in the culture of policing. Which is basically pushing an unreasonable "us vs them" mentality in which all civilians, and not just "criminals", are described in terms making them "the enemy", and treated accordingly.
(In the US) Thanks to recent wars, military hardware and militarized training have become commonplace. Cope are no longer peacekeepers but instead aim to pacify the enemy. Situations tend to get escalated rather than cooled off, and 3 AM no-knock warrants are served by SWAT teams on nonviolent offenders.
Crime has been going down in the US, but if you listen to the media or some cops "it is a warzone out there". Some situations call for use of force to be sure, but there is something deeply wrong with police culture. Examples of endemic racism are but the tip or the iceberg that us much larger problem.

When I was quite a bit younger I was driving to my friend's house for boardgame night. When I was almost there, a cop signalled me to pull over. Aparently my windows where tinted! This is of course a sure sign that I am a drug dealer. He wanted to search my car, but I said no. After a long time of him calling HQ, he came back and told me he was allowed to search my car. (I was young.) So he did, and he found a black suitcase that he demanded I open. It was a case to transport wargaming miniatures in, and he looked so dissapointed when he saw my little metal men instead of whatever he thought I was transporting. But then he took the top layer off, I had three layers of foamy material, each containing miniature soldiers. All my soldiers fell on the floor, and he continued raping my miniature case. Lots of painted men got chipped that day, it took me hours to repair the damage he caused me! And not even an apology, of course. And I swear to this day the man was sporting a hard on troughout the ordeal.
So I'm pissed, he's dissapointed, he measures the tint of my windows and it was like .20% too dark or whatever (the windows where also dirty, but cops don't care.) and gave me a huge fine for that.
Looking back on it now... that was about a year before my first joint and three years before I really started "doing" drugs. Did the cop push me to drugs? I'd say no, but will blame him if it suits me.
Fucking pig. Touching my little metal men. There's no excuse.

Dude if you're white, have no tattoos and don't replace the word "any" with "no" like a dumb red neck then you're fine. Invite them in for a cup of coffee and discuss life.
If not get a spinal cord protection shield.
