i remember when i use to visit here someone had created a large growing chamber out of those plastic grated shelveing units you get at walmart / home depot and some clear plastic used with insulation
im going to attempt to begin a project similar to this, im wondering if anyone knows those pictures im talking about, or any ideas or tips that will help me to go about this

Yeah, the thread is by a member named Anno, if that helps, and it's in the grow logs section. I was looking into the same project recently.

what ideas did you come about?
i was thinking that possibly perlite might be enough to keep it with enough moisture, since im on a tight budget getting one of those humidifires that dont throw heat (what are they called again?) might be outta my price range

the plastic closet you are wondering about is the martha stewart brand sold at k-mart.
look up Magash threads under automation

i hear you on the fridge thing just something nice and cool you wouldnt have to think about. I am currently building a large size grow room and this ight make my work a lot easier. Anyone know where to get somethign similar in the states? I really love those wire racks and it would be easy to have several crop going at once. It seems to me that one to harvest around a pount a month from a small unit like that properly maintained.

I've been working on and now almost finished with a dresser thats fully enclosed and looks just like a regular dresser 60"x48"x20" (HxWxD) with for growing shelves lights, and misters on all four shelves. The bottom of the unit is a water pick-up and pump (on a timer) and at the top are the timers and GFI's. The top shelf is outside of this "growing space". The "growing space" is enclosed or lined with 1/16" acrylic sheets (to prevent moisture problems w/electrical). The four shelves all pull out and when croped each shelf produces around 8-16+ oz's dry weight. Friends have told me to try an d make them affordable and i might have somthing worth buying what does everyone think about this? Thanks,

IF this dresser is made from wood like mine, prepare for wood rot from the moisture. While it's a decent idea, there are better already floating around.

The whole grown area is enclosed and sealed with 1/16 Acrylic, so rot is not a problem. Thanks for the response.

Cheep. Whatever a cool mist and a ultrasonic cost in your area. The plastic thing is a Martha Stewart closet from K-Mart 26 bucks. The shelfing is just pvc and zip ties with a little plastic net. Not even 10 bucks for that.

It looks verry professional, i'll have to look into getting some of those plastic tent containers and an ultra sonic and see how it goes, it looks like it would have great success.
