Post birthing bacillus infection question, I need advice.
    #2169112 - 12/08/03 04:23 PM (13 years, 2 days ago)

Two of my jars, after approx. 75% colonization devolped wet spot (fucking damnit :mad2:) on the remining 25%, leaving a line of competitive inhibition where healthy myclium remained on top and the asshole bacteria remained on the bottom. In vain attempts to save a jars worth of good mycelium I dug out the very top half of each jar leaving the remaining quarter touching the contam left. I know a jar isn't alot but I'm really losing two and I don't make that many at a time for just about any reason you can think of. Here's my problem, I've had a stuffy nose seemingly forever and I really can't smell anything that good. After dunking/shocking I tried my best to smell if there was anything wrong with this batch and what I did smell doen't smell quite right but I don't know if it's me or the stock. So how well does bacillus servive post birthing? I cheked quite carefully and ther is no visable signs of infection but I worry the toxins the infection might have produced still remain in the network. Any one have any ideas?

I wouldn't play with bacterial contamination, that stuff is really nasty. Toss it and restart.
