No, I can imagine it was an immense chore! Mine probably isn't 200 lbs yet, but I definitely don't want to plant it in any larger of a pot because it is already the biggest potted plant I ever want to handle...
Hopefully it will take to staying outside in my climate. I'm zone 8 so I will keep my fingers crossed, but I just can't keep bringing it in anymore for the winter. It already bends over from the ceiling when it comes inside....

Oh, yeah. I'm as sure as I can be that Richard is putting out some nice product. Mine is only 2 1/2 or 3(?) years old now and it kicked my ass. But then again, who knows how many gms that ended up being... I'm eager to try it again soon at a lower dose, though

Ahh.. Dormancy, rootbound. . and Bonsai.. / Penjing
Many of us who live in Urban environments have to container garden, so It can be a concern as to, (when do I repot?).
As for cacti.. I can say a couple things.. If its in a plastic pot, I have done the wait till the platic starts to "bulge" method. That seems to work ok.
with some of my seedlings. sometimes the substrate binds the roots so as to not allow the roots to develop well, so . . . I even repot Tiny babies, and or uproot them to see why they are not growing well (usually a barkish chunk under the roots), and a repot fixes it.
Some plants Need repotting maintainance a lot, such as bonsai-trees. they grow roots faster than many cacti and need to even have roots trimmed to limit growth.
I will talk about one Genus of plants here for a moment with regard to repotting and Rootbound.. . as it is important to them to get them to flower, and that is (HOYA plants).
It is my experience growing a number of Hoyas, that they do not like to be repotted. .and can take a few years to get re-established enough to bloom. Hoyas, can be tempermental that way. I allow mine to get fairly rootbound before I attempt to repot, and I KNOW that they will not flower for several years after a repot.
