I can see how someone like you would call people like that freeloaders, yeah. Your mindset is really weird and alien to me.

Two wolves and a sheep discussing what's for dinner. I suspect there are a lot of Canadians that care that they are getting fucked by either having to pay for all the bums or having to wait interminably for care.

And its exactly why a lot of your doctors come across the border to work for us, generally taking a paycut on the way. More then we lose to the states, and its been that way for quite some time. Your system sucks. The people involved in it generally dont even like it. Neither do a lot of your citizens. The only reason American hasnt caught up to every single other developed nation out there is because of very successful and pervasive propaganda. Nothing is great about your bloated broken system. Even the rich seek out care offshore in droves. Quite a few even make it this way, and im sure theres plenty of complaints here. Thats why support for it generally hangs around 90%. Nationwide.

No, Im refering to the people who dont have insurance through an employer, or can afford purchasing health care on their own. Aka, the 'out of pocket' people.

What nonsense. If American doctors go to Canada it is because of our legal system, not our medical system

The benchmark for cataract surgery wait time is 4 months. Hip replacement and knee replacement? 6 months

Right on Canada's health care system sucks dick compared to the states. Why do you think the states have so many Canadian doctors? Most of Canada's doctors aren't even educated in the west. I am not biased, I have lived in both countries, and seen up close the workings and going ons in each countries health care systems. The us military has socialized health care, how's that working out? Have you been to a US Dr recently? If you pay for your own healthcare, you would have noticed like I have, the price has almost tripled since the new healthcare system was in initiated. Yet, My 78 year old aunt on a fixed income can't afford to get proper treatment because her Medicines are under patent with no generics. The problem is not the doctors and surgeons... Its the companies that charge ridiculous prices for their products. If I were president I'd scrap the socialized Medicine program and put that money towards a tax funded medical research program. All developments and subsequent patents would be property of the people. Free to citizens only to be sold to foreign nations. Every clinic would have a pharmacy bought for with a "Dr tax".

I work in a US hospital, and >90% of my patients are from other countries. They leave their home countries to go to European hospitals; who then in turn refer them to us, because they can't offer the same quality of care that we can. Yup, American healthcare sucks.

That plays a part, morality is often cited as reason for leaving as well. Wait times are not always a negative thing. Being forced to wait for major surgeries often lowers mortality rates. Not only that but the states isnt that much faster overall. Its a small price to pay for universal coverage, and it doesnt really seem to draw any serious complaints from people here. 90% of us strongly support it. Our systems better, its more efficient, effective and consistently has a wider base of support then its counterpart in the states. More of your doctors come here, our government spends less then yours (per capita), 52% of our people arnt walking around uninsured, nobody gets fucked by circumstances out of their control. Our system rocks.
