I remember noticing that
-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

Do you or have you ever engaged in homosexual relations with a transient?
Do you or have you ever set a needle down and forgotten which one is yours?
Do you or have you ever eaten any raw flesh human or otherwise?
These are strictly medical questions used to determine a prognosis.

I already said I'd be happy to donate, if he legitimately needs it for medical bills.
I would also LOVE LOVE LOVE to be able to send him a get well soon card. If you can ask him if he can get mail to the hospital, and If he would be okay with letting me send him some get well mail, I would ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY love to be able to do that.
Medical bills. Lol. He lives in a civilized country.
So that means he gets to have his idiotic behavior subsidized instead of being confronted with the consequences of his behavior? Maybe your idea of civilization is what contributed to his stupid behavior since it subsidizes it.
It won't be subsidized. The only thing he will have to pay for is any medication they prescribe him on the way out.
Oh, Canada..

Yet most canadians consider that a small price to pay for the tradeoff of being able afford decent care if they develop a gentic disorder or break their ankle slipping on ice. Sure we gotta take care of a few morons but at least if your child develops type 1 diabetes the choice isn't between letting it die and bankruptcy.

I guess you can describe it like that. Generally subsidizing means you have to pay for something though. We have free health care. As long as it's actually needed, extended care is free. People paying taxes doesn't mean it's a subsidy.

How do you figure? It means exactly that.
Pastywhyte, of course MOST Canadians like it. Most Canadians aren't paying enough taxes to cover it. Two wolves and a sheep discussing what is for dinner.

So what. Were tacitly aware the poorest people get the most out of it. Its kind of the central reasoning behind the system.

Oh Frank that argument might hold water in the US where a visit to an ER for a diabetic to get a bag of saline and a 15 min visit from a quack runs $600. Or $2500 for an xray and to set and cast a broken arm. But most Canadians won't stand for shameless gouging of people for what we consider to be a basic right. Only recently has our medical system been taken over by overpaid boards collecting millions in annual salaries under the guise of keeping pace with the US. But it won't last as people here have finally become wise to conservative pandering to the 1%. They will be gone soon enough.
As for taxes I just about wet myself from laughing at the notion that we don't pay enough to cover the cost of public health. Too funny. Before I paid my property tax, taxes on fuel, sales taxes, sin taxes (and I pay a lot of those), last year I paid over $30000 in personal income taxes. An american telling a Canadian we don't pay enough tax

If you paid 30,000 in income taxes you are one of the suckers getting hosed. That is more than the median Canadian individual even makes. http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/median-family-income-in-canada-is-76-000-statscan-survey-shows-1.1449641
"It shows that the median family income in Canada is $76,000 -- generally higher in the West than the East -- while the median individual income is just $27,600. That means just as many individuals earn less than $27,600 as earn more."

Most Americans pay far more to an insurance company than even any Canadian would pay in taxes for their healthcare.

Most Canadians do not pay enough in taxes to cover their health costs. They are freeloaders. They are being covered by the few. And a huge number of Americans get health costs paid by the government either through medicare or medicaid or they have health insurance paid by their employer.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_insurance_in_the_United_States
"According to the United States Census Bureau, roughly 55% obtain insurance through an employer, while about 10% purchase it directly."
