My malabar myc looks similar to that i have Malabars and pf classics and i think malabars are genetically predisposed to be fast colonizers because of that long strandy type of mycelium i believe its called rhizomorphic

well this post looks like it turned into a shit show... I did post a reply that did say where I got the spores from, sorry I didnt know that was an off limits thing... wont do that again... but I also did not see what the deleted posts said sooo dont know how to reply to that.. the grain is "winter wheat berries" I used the same grain with another strain at the same time and am not experiencing the same growth on the other strain (the other strain is doing great off of the same grain). What i put into the pressure cooker in quart jars was all grain with a little powdered lime (nothing else all grain and a small amount of lime), cooked at 15psi for 1.5 hours added spores from a new spore syringe in front of a newly build HEPA flow hood added a small amount of hydrogen peroxide before to each jar. The cakes are cakes that were inoculated with the same syringe at the same time because I have never worked with grain before but have worked with BRF cakes before and was wanted to have a back up to get spore prints off of incase the grain failed, but never seeing this type of mycelium growth before thought that both were fine and threw them in together once birthed. I also live in the swamp so humidity is always really high here. Ive been keeping everything in a tempurature controlled fridge set at 75F. Does that clear everything up? Does anyone have any reccomendations or better all grain TEKs they could link me too? I'm new at this and this thread is just making things more confusing. Thanks appreciate all y'alls imput!

I would stick with regular rye berry but I've not used the winter ones do who knows.
If you happen to do brf in the future and use it for bulk then you should crumble it instead of keeping it in pieces like that. Just use it like spawn.
I think you are really gonna be just fine. Go easy on misting if it seems too wet.
I PMd you my spore source.
