cobweb mold - too early to tell?
    #21685140 - 05/15/15 10:52 PM (8 years, 8 months ago)

Innoced on Monday, found this today. This is the first sign of it and I'm not sure if it's cobweb mold or myc.

That looks too bright to me to be cobweb.  Watch it for the next 2 days.  If it expands rapidly (Like triples in size) then its cobweb.

I hope so, lol. I noticed it in 4 jars I innoced on Monday, I did 4 more on Tuesday and haven't noticed anything for them yet.

Those are spores germinating. Did you use a different syringe for the other bottles?

It doesn't look good to me.. but it could just be picture quality so I'm not certain :frown:. I think you should isolate it and let it colonize away from the other jars just in case. You can bring it back if it turns into thick healthy mycelium. It could just be early signs of mycelium all over, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Those Monday bottles probably just had some good spores shot into it. They look good to me so far.

Yeah after scrunching my eyebrows looking at them I agree they look good. 1st picture has a glare that made it look bacterial or something but 2nd pic looks great in those said areas. Glad you posted multiple pics.

Looks okay to me.

Next time take those spores to agar instead, and you can clean it up in the even that it's dirty.

I have a third sub species I put on agar, hehe. But damn I had a hard time just getting a drop or two.. It was more like a little squirt. Haha! Hopefully they start showing some signs of growth soon tho. Waited till Wednesday for that particular syringe. I put GT in first 4 jars on Monday, Bermuda on Tuesday in another 4 jars and creepers on Wednesday in 3 agar plates
